As an introduction to engineering - build your own iconic monument. There is a nice old-fashioned feel to construction toys and this one even comes in its own tin. I was given it as a Birthday present and we sort of took it to a different level with a replica of its garden and fireworks! It's a fun project for older kids to do and younger ones with supervision.
