Lo and Behold, I have discovered that I have a natural Routine. Welcome to my Groundhog Days.

This has been in the making for the past few months; as I recently found out that an old friend had just taken over the lease of the Old Shilo Inn’s cigar lounge “The Mark”. It is now The Chamber at 9900, or “The Chamber“.

I’m a Procrastinator. It’s time to ReBoot my Workouts for My Summer Fitness Goals

ReBoot: It’s Time for Summer Fitness (Physical and Mental) and Outdoor Activities

Good Weather, Outdoors WeatherGeez Louise! I made two mistakes the other day; I watched a workout video on YouTube and looked up the weather report for next week.

It’s time to ReBoot and “Get Real” and get over my physical fitness stalling. Yep, I’ve been distracted lately and I need to find a new focus that is relevant to my new ReConnected activities; A return to my Cigar Hobby of twenty-years ago and Golf. Oddly, I’ve been absent from both for about the same period of time.

It’s Masters Golf Weekend … I’m Feeling the Golf-Bug Again … Stay tuned for New Summer Office Hours

Scott Sakamoto, summer Office, Golf, Pumpkin Ridge, Golf Form, Masters GolfJust kidding. You know that I’m an early riser so I’m often finding that I’ve completed my work by 9:00a or 10:00a and looking for fun or constructive (healthy) things to do. Yes, I have learned to not overwork myself and find time to play and relax and have fun. Although, those that know me well will know that I will focus and perfect my golf game to what it was … or close to it.

I remember a few years ago when I had an epiphany when I was struggling with a decision to watch the Masters Golf Tournament or try to write another Blog Post on Ronin Studios.

So, I’ve Been a Litte Scarce Lately.
I’ve been Distracted

About a month ago I got a hair up my you know what about WHY some smart business owners and individuals were using their powers of persuasion to convince themselves and I’m guessing others WHY they didn’t or don’t see a need for responsible, meaningful Social Media activity to help market their Business Product, Service or Information and or to amplify their Business, Professional or Personal Brand.

I Don’t Have Time Is Not an Excuse
I made time last month to reach out to longtime Pacific Northwest based headhunter Connie Dorigan of Dorigan + Associates and also to recently Re-Graduated (second time around) this time with Internet Marketing Skills and recently hired Miles Shattuck who I was reintroduced to while attending the 2018 TEDxPortland Event.

What are the expectations of YOUR Modern Employee (or Non Profit Board Member)

From what I’ve observed over the years in my ever growing and evolving “Business Acumen”, I’ve noticed two important Business-Culture changes over the past couple of decades for our Modern Employee.

There is No Company (Corporate) Loyalty anymore
There is No Employee (Personal) Loyalty anymore

I think a lot of us intuitively know that this is true. We are at a time in our American Business Culture when Business Leadership values and rewards “profitability” over “relationships”; at the same time, employees have evolved into “transient” talent because nowadays these folks value and are on the search for personal empowerment over unfounded loyalty to companies that aren’t giving them what they want.

I Need Answers, I’m Talking to a Professional

I need answers! I’ve been scratching my head for the past few years and I’m about to change my tune … or Charge lots of money for it!

This I know is true and it has become one of my Mantras; the two most common causes of Failure are:

Poor Leadership (or Lack of it) and/or
Poor Marketing (or Lack of it)

These are two very important topics for your business that you need to pay attention to that will set you apart from your competition; Guaranteed! Oh, and I am also very adept and professionally trained with over 30-years of experience to help you accomplish this. But that isn’t the purpose of this article and probably a couple articles to follow. I think if you pay attention there will be plenty of FREE advice and actionable steps for you (or, you can pay me lots of money instead).

A Vision With a Plan is a Dream

Say it any way you want to, but if you don’t have a plan (Vision) … Let’s put it this way (and I’m sure you’ve heard it before)

People Don’t Plan to Fail, They Fail to Plan!

“Writing is like a Muscle that Needs to be Exercised Regularly”

I don’t care how many term papers you wrote way back-in-the-day. If you haven’t completed any Internet Content Writing in the last five years consistently, you’re going to be in for a big surprise.

First, What “Smart” Modern Person or “Company Talent” uses Resumes anymore?

If you were a Modern Business Owner about to hire someone who is going to have “Front-Line” exposure to your Clients and/or Customers, where would you conduct your due diligence? Trust the Resume … word-of-mouth … LinkedIn?

LinkedIn is More Than a Resume Website. Don’t Mess It Up!

I was hanging out with Cigar Sensei (Aficionado) Mark Dikeos of Pacific Motorsports fame yesterday at my new “Smoking Office” (The Chamber at 9900). All I can say is that I have a half page of notes.
