Google+ Story of my trip to Singapore

Mostly accurate. Very amusing to look at!

Cat among the pigeons?

Am currently in #Singapore  receiving training from my new work, and caught this moment through Chinatown on the way to the building. It was early morning and raised a smile.

Strange how things can look after a bit of perspective.
World's Deadliest Animals

I don't think you believe it is the shark or the lion or the crocodile. I'm sure, like me, you'll be surprised at how deadly things you had never heard of are... freshwater snails (!), tesete fly, our bff dogs.

And even if you suspected we humans are the most deadly animal, we are by a long margin, you surely did not realize we are outclassed by mosquitoes!

The sad part is how easy the latter problem is to fix. If only we were not distracted with spreading "freedom" or protesting the right to carry x or prohibit y.  725,000 killed each year. 725,000.

Adorable little scallywag

Meet Mum's new pet dog, Gus. Probably the most loveable puppy I have ever laid eyes on. I'm glad to be back in #Traralgon  and seeing him in the flesh, as normally I have to rely on my sister sending photos via WhatsApp.

Breakfast In the clouds

Had breakfast at Cumulus Inc. this morning and enjoyed mushrooms and parmesan. The real highlight was the 65/65 egg though. So gooey!

Autumn cooking

It's wet and dreary outside, and I felt like cooking tonight. Got a bit carried away and made an impromptu chicken, salmon, spinach and lemon risotto (featuring mushrooms). It tastes delicious, and I added lemon to give it a bit of zest.

Fancy Hank's BBQ Melbourne

Had a delicious time at the Mercat Hotel and this adjoining eatery. It had a wide selection of smoked meats that you can go and appreciate being cooked from the balcony. I enjoyed the Fancy Sanga at monster size. It featured brisket, sweet BBQ sauce, pickles and this wonderfully textured cheddar. The fresh onions added a bit of crunch to otherwise soft-ish mouthfuls.

Smashed it over the course of Sunday lunch-time, to the tunes of accordion and banjo. I could give or take the music, but will return to try the BBQ ribs (they'd ran out during my sortie).

Melbourne Autumn treat

I have friends in town this weekend and we've been gallivanting around the city on drinking and #foodie  adventures.

A stopover at Naked for Satan was a real treat, we got some great seats near the bar (despite it being busy) and my cravings for mulled wine were satisfied.

It gets busy, but extremely impressed with how they've fitted out the rooftop and a great spot for people-watching too.

Great exposition on unconscious bias

When I first heard of unconscious bias, my mind wanted to reject it. As someone that prides themselves on equality, there was no way I could possibly be tarred from the same brush.

The more I learned, the more I realised that sure enough, it creeps into everyday life, and this excerpt from Brain Pickings provides some answers why.
