Saying goodbye to iPhoto, the software Steve Jobs introduced in 2002, my new post on LA Times Framework
For me, iPhoto is a trip down memory lane. My library has over 25,000 family photos. I’ve seen my four kids grow up with it.

My review of the #Fotodiox #FlapJack #LED Round Edge Light on LA Times Framework http://lat.ms/1CASpd0

Taking a look at camera harnesses for dogs by #Sony & #GoPro, my latest post on LA Times Framework.
Do I really need video from my dogs perspective? Companies like GoPro and Sony seem to think so. They both make dog camera harnesses for their action POV (point-of-view) cameras.

Checking out the #Nikon D3300 camera. My latest post on LA Times Framework
Cameras keep getting smaller and the quality just keeps getting better. Since I’m still holding onto my SLR (single-lens-reflex) roots, when it comes to serious photography, I’m still the most comf...

What started as a very simple project, converting my old video tapes to digital, has extended to over a three month project with no end in sight.

Excellent post as always Robert.  One thing you might consider is using something like Plex or XBMC on one of your Macs which will play all of your home movies. I use XBMC (free, open source) and it's gorgeous.  I haven't used Plex yet but I think you can get to Plex files from your AppleTV which would be really cool.

The video review really helps. Not having seen one yet in stores I did not realize how small it is. The putter demo is a highlight.

Smartphones vs. point-and-shoot cameras, my latest post on LA Times Framework
Today it seems like everyone’s point-and-shoot camera is their smart phone. It brings together the marriage of super convenience with darn good quality. I’m truly amazed with some of the photograph...

Based on one of the reviews I'm thinking of trying the birdhouse cam. Something I don't think I would have discovered otherwise.  The entire LA Times photography and media presentation on the web is a great alternative to what strikes me as domination by NY and east coast style.  But that is not exactly a stunning observation that LA is a distinct  art and style capital  in the US.
