This is the second time I’ve been to Café Juanita. The first time was amazing, but I can say after this visit we will not be returning. The food was good but nothing amazing. It took a long time for us to get our food and we were the first table seated for dinner service. It seemed as if a class was going on in the kitchen and all the staff was watching the Chef. Not something I think should’ve be done at the expense of my time. The servers treated us like we were beneath them and it took about ten min for us to be greeted. I don’t find this acceptable considering we were the first table seated. The lucky man that was seated after us had the pleasure of every member of the wait staff waiting on him, but it took about 15 minutes and the girl bussing tables looking at my husbands empty plate three times before it was removed. Lastly one of the servers was sick and continually coughing into his hand. I walked by him when going to the restroom and he informed what I believe to be the head server that he was choking on something he drank. 30 minuets later he was still coughing all over the place so he was clearly no longer choking.

The foie graw....OMG! And the octopus. I can barely wait to go again. Jim, my waiter, was top notch.

Currently our favorite restaurant in the Seattle area. The rabbit is always fantastic, but nothing ever disappoints.

On our reservation, we requested a quiet table. We arrived at 5:15pm on a weekday. There were only 2 tables occupied and the host put us in their worst table: near the door & right next/facing to the kitchen. Really? We asked to move and he was not very happy, even though there were still a few tables available when we were done around 7:00. Why ? Because we are not the same color of all your fans ? An appetizer of prosciutto and melon -- 2 stars. Just a few strips of ham on a white plate. Even Monsoon East at Bellevue has better presentation & taste compared to this. The rabbit is their signature dish -- 5 stars Grilled Octopus with green sauce, smoked marrow -- 4 stars Goat cheese gnocchi with favas and guanciale -- 2 star Tiramisu -- the one from Safeway tastes better and is 1/10 of the price A couple more dishes but we were not all that impressed. Almost $300 with 20% tip. Everything felt very overhyped and overpriced. I guess our expectations were high when considering their price tag. Needless to say, we won't be back. FYI, yelp had put away most of their bad reviews into not recommended, who knows why.

Café Juanita is our absolute favorite restaurant on the eastside. The menu is creative and the plates are beautiful. The service is always top-notch and the atmosphere is charming and quaint. It's the perfect special occasion place for anyone that truly appreciates fine dining.

My wife and I went there as a special night out. We chose this restaurant over other high end restaurants on the Eastside on the recommendation of friends. Service/Ambiance: The service was great. Quaint ambiance with very friendly staff. The chef came out to meet us personally which was very nice. Food: We had the Sablefish and Foie Gras for appetizers. The sablefish was great with complex flavors. This was the best food of the night. The foie gras tasted like a $25 piece of duck fat. Salads were good but nothing memorable. We ordered the Rabbit and Wagyu Beef Cheek entrees. The rabbit was pretty good but the taste was drowned out with gravy. The Wagyu Beef Cheeks were nothing more than expensive pot roast. I was very excited to try both of these dishes but was disappointed with both; especially the Wagyu beef. As these are the 2 signature entrees on the menu, I was not impressed. All in all, I expected more on this special night out. Price: Our bill came to +$190 w/o alcohol. It is what we expected to pay but was disappointed with the price after tasting the food. Great service, however, I do not recommend this restaurant.
