I thought of +Nathan Williams as I was catching up on listening to the +Arkus, Inc. Cloudfocus Weekly podcast last night. They have an "App Pick of the Week," where each of the two hosts picks an iOS, Salesforce or standalone Web app to feature.  +Justin Edelstein picked Hipmunk for iOS, acknowledging that +Jason Atwood had previously picked their web app and speaks very highly of them. But then Jason walks Justin through a search and the charted price feature of Google Flights. I thought you and your colleagues might enjoy it - the episode is here: http://www.arkusinc.com/archive/2014/speaking-out-episode-181-of-cloudfocus-weekly and the Pick of the Week segment starts at 32:45.

My modest contribution to the Salesforce Foundation Nonprofit Starter Pack is featured in a blog post today.

If I wanted a Linux-only laptop, this seems like a good choice. How's running a Windows VM inside of Ubuntu working these days?

Great and thorough review of my dream tablet. I keep seeing these deep discounts on first-gen Android tablets, and it's tempting, but the tech moves so fast.

Enjoying my barleywine favor from the wedding of +Nathan Williams and +Cana Williams a year and two days ago. What a fine occasion & party that was! I'm looking forward to another cousin's wedding this weekend, especially since the intervening family gatherings have been funerals for Nathan's step-father and our mutual grandmother.

But I doubt the beer at this wedding will be as good as at that wedding. Cana, I hope you sampled some of this tasty stuff! Does one really hurt? And anyway, the genetics suggest that this kid will have brain capacity to spare. Will Jessica and I see one or both of you in weird ol' Austin?

Holy crap - I'd long ago lost whatever professional respect I might've once had for Komen, but this just strikes me as ridiculously dumb. I mean, even if you grant them (and I don't) that you should let political pressure dictate drastic changes to your fact- and science-based mission delivery programs, do you really think that there are more anti-abortion people in their giving and service constituency than there are pro-choice folks? I mean, for an organization that seems to value money-grubbing above all else, this seems like a spectacularly stupid and counter-productive move.

Lots of new adds on Google+ today, but not sure why. Seems to be mostly NP Tech folk - who are all you nice folks, and why have you added me? I haven't exactly been active here. Maybe now that my better Android phone is fixed, I will be.

This is a really terrific post about #Occupy. This is what good, honest reporting and commentary looks like.
Some more writing about Occupy Wall Street (and Occupy Philly, where I've been involved). I highlight some of the constructive criticism surrounding the Occupy encampments, in particular as it relates to anti-racism and racial justice.
