Came in from San Antonio. Checked Google for a quick bite and found this place. Ordered the Chicken Tender Basket and Fries. Chicken was super fresh and hot and very flavorful. Fries were hand cut fries and we're very good. Honey Mustard tasted homemade and have a good kick to it. The other party we were with order the Chicken Basket and Mac N Cheese. Didn't try there chicken but tried the Mac N Cheese. My only complaint is the Mac N Cheese was horrible. Worse then box Mac N Cheese. But I came for the Chicken and it's was very good.

This is a nice little spot to get some chicken or oysters. They even have mountain oysters(bull testies) they are not as bad as it sounds. Its crunchy but really soft on the inside with just a hint of iron at the end, otherwise they're good. The catfish sandwich was a bit spicy from cracked pepper but moist fish. The chicken tenders looked hard crispy but are a soft crisp which is good. Good selection of beers, liked that they had Premium Shiner on tap, only seen regular shiner at other places. Went at 5pm on thursday only 3 other tables had customers, but started to pick up at 630-7pm.

The ambiance was great but the food sucked ESPECIALLY THEM DARN FRIED DEVILED ..EGGS....they had a pungent taste thst left me wondering who came up with that idea. ..the chicken was under seasoned and the fried oysters were over seasoned with some sort of crust I couldn't describe....the grilled wings were dry and coated with some kind of 90 weight sauce... The whole food experience there was not good..thank u Austin for the great icecream festival but one restaurant here has thumbs down from our ENTIRE family

Unique cocktails, am array of oyster choices, amazing fried chicken, all on a menu of choices that leaves you struggling to pick just one thing. I had wood fired oysters covered in jalapeno salsa, with bits of chorizo. I tried the chicken and it was perfectly seasoned and support tender.

What can I say, they make real good fried chicken! Their sides are to notch as well. My favorite is the tender basket with Mexican coke sweet potatoes (mashed). This is a weekly stop for me and co-workers. Well worth a try.

An Austin classic for fried chicken and other traditional Southern fare. Very relaxed atmosphere with indoor/outdoor seating and TVs in the bar area. The fried chicken is of course very good, but I would be reaching to say the best I've ever had. Their other menu items such as the Fried Green Tomatoes are very good though and also have surprisingly good oysters.

Good chicken, but great, that's a bit of an overstatement. Don't get me wrong, it is good, and the atmosphere is unique, but I wouldnt go out of my way for it. The appetizers we had were on point, the fried deviled eggs were phenomenal but their price is a little steep for what you get. I get it, this is a S. Austin staple, but you're buying the vibe more than the food. There are other more genuinely Austin "weird" establishments that charge a lot less for chicken on the same level of better. 4 stars cus I liked it, didn't love it.
