'Try it and see' was written by Andrew Lloyd-Webber and entered at 1969 Eurovision Song Contest in the UK leg of the competition. It was eventually superceded by 'Boom Bang-a-Bang' and 'forgotten' for a while. Rita Pavone's record producers at British Polydor, Norrie Paramor & Felix Mendelsshon thought it would be just right for the Italian singer's B side of a coming single release... and that's all she wrote...

Rita Pavone is the first to record Andrew Lloyd-Webber's 'Try it and see' in 1969. The song had been entried at the UK leg of the 1969 Eurovisio Song Contest but was superseded by 'Boom Bang-a-Bang' which ended up winning the Contest in a 4-way tie.

When Rita Pavone left RCA Italiana and signed with Ricordi in October 1967, did little she know she was signing her own 'death sentence'. It would have been a 4 year-contract but at the end of the 2nd year everyone knew Rita's career was in Skid Row and never ever she would reach the top again...

Rita Pavone from Italy had a big international career. Pavone was arguably the biggest Italian act outside her own country. After trying the German market in 1963 and getting away with. In 1964, she & her manager focused their attention in the US market where she was partly successful. In 1965, she turned her attentions back Italy again having starred in 'Stasera Rita' (Nov. 65) and 'Studio Uno' in March 1966. Then, Rita & Mr. Ferruccio Ricordi decided to 'attack' the British market. She recorded 'Heart' in the original and appeared at 'The top of the pops' and other TV shows...
