Exploring our past, present and future, we are celebrating some of our most high profile innovations that have helped to shape the world around us.
In the middle of the 19th century, a group of marine engineers invented the marine steam engine.
An engine that forever changed the face of sea travel by making any destination in the world reachable without having to refuel coal, significantly reducing sea transportation operating costs.
In this short video you can find out more about the marine steam engine design, the significant benefits it delivered and how it serves to inspire our engineers of today. ‪#‎inspiredwork‬

We have developed an innovative communication device to aid armed forces personnel on the battlefield. The prototype system is designed to improve soldier safety and drive mission success by harnessing the body’s natural ability to transmit sound through bone conduction, transferring messages directly from the soldier’s helmet to the inner ear

Employees across our UK sites have been celebrating the contribution of Britain’s military by completing a range of fundraising activities to mark this year’s Armed Forces Day which took place on Friday June 27th. In total, the teams raised more than £16,000 for our partner Armed Forces charities.
From conquering an assault course with the army at the Aldershot Garrison to cycling over 1100km on spin bikes, employees came out in force to show they are proud to support.

We're collaborating with academics at the University of Birmingham to develop applications for a ground-breaking augmented reality technology concept, which intelligently ‘mixes’ together the real and virtual world to allow operators to take real-time control of their environments like never before.
This includes a briefcase sized portable command centre that can be easily deployed and set-up anywhere to tackle emergency scenarios by creating a ‘virtual’ information rich workspace, and a ‘wearable cockpit’ to provide pilots with a customisable environment to enhance their situational awareness while also reducing the cost of cockpit upgrades.
