Went for Lunch today. Lunch was okay but not that great :/ ...ordered JÄGER SCHNITZEL; the meat was okay...tasted like it has been frozen & just unthawed it. I asked for no braised cabbage, meanwhile, i got it...i just didn't eat it. The side dish was blah. The waiter wasn't all the enthusiastic & didn't seem happy to serve or work there. (poor service). I would recommend going to the cafe area, much better attitude and dessert. I have yet to try their other food choices, hopefully better luck next time.

Excellent food. The service and overall experience are among the best in the area.

I have been here quite a few times and always leave happy, the building is beautiful, there are many seating arrangements to choose from including outside. they are both child friendly and yet can be intimate and romantic. ideal for either a breakfast meet or a date night. the food is amazing I recommend the monte crisco sandwich. the bakery has the best Cannoli and starbucks mocha.

Our family stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant while looking for a gluten free option for breakfast. Our only regrets are that we have not found this place sooner and that they were not going to be open in time for us to go on Sunday morning before leaving town. We have not enjoyed breakfast so much since we started eating gluten free a year ago! I had one of their GF crepes. The "dough" was light and airy but very satisfying. The seasonings and filling were perfect. Our children loved their GF pancakes and I confess to trying a couple of bites. YUMMY. It was so fun to be able to tell my kids yes they could have the pancakes. Best part? We enjoyed all of that with no tummy aches afterwards. Highly recommend this place. We will definitely be going here again!

Had very good goulash soup and wonderful spatzle with Jagerschitzel. Both were very much like what we had in Germany. Very, very good. Casual but a nice wine list and red wine served at a proper slightly cool temperature.

Food was only ok. French onion soup was only ok. Chicken Cesar wrap was good. Snitchel's were pretty good. Food took to long. Appetizers came with the meal.

We had lunch at the AlpenRose today. It was delicious! Not only was the food professionally prepared and extremely reasonably priced, but the atmosphere was warm and comfortable and the wait-staff was helpful and welcoming. We were celebrating a graduation and so they gave us a free dessert for the special occassion! We plan to return again soon, even though we live in Grand Rapids. This is one of the best fine-dining establishments in Holland!

I have found Alpen Rose to be an excellent place to plan my schedule, meet with people for coffee or have a first class meal with my lady. Regardless of what you may have in your pocket, there is something here for everyone. From coffee for under $2 with unlimited refills and a $1 pastry to prime rib, Alpen Rose is a wonderful place to go.
