First time here. I liked the place a lot. Price for the area was very reasonable. You get free breakfast every morning. They have a tv area with a few couches, washing machines to do your laundry, I really liked the outside area which had a couple of day beds and lots of chairs to sit outside and relax. The rooms have lockers for your luggage, but bring a lock. My only complaints, is there is no air conditioner in the rooms and it was very hot, they had a fan which really didn't do much. The lounge areas weren't that hot, it was kind of cool. The bathrooms had a funky musky smell to them and it was extremely hot in the bathrooms because of no air conditioner. The place is very nice and all the employees are super cool. The young lady, I think her name was Bevin(?) . She was very very helpful with any questions that I asked.

Great location near the city and the beach. Easily accessible by bus. Paid parking across the street. Friendly staff. Nice amenities.

My friends and I stayed there a few weeks ago. The location was okay. But the staff didn't make our reservation correctly so we had to stay at the different rooms. I asked them a few times in advance to make sure if we can stay at the same room, though. And they didn't apologize well, it was unpleasant. And the water from the shower was cold, so that we got cold. They could improve some facilities and cleanness more...

Traveler beware. Due to the location, close to the ocean and nightclubs, the price of a bed is much higher than any other HI-Hostel I've seen. I've booked over the phone for two beds and been quoted $48. I was used to $19/night at HI-Hostels, so imagine my surprise when the total was $108. If you have a car, the parking is directly across the street in a parking structure for $15 overnight, else ask reception where the $5 parking is 15 walking minutes away. Don't park in the lot in the basement in the same block, it was $10 until 2am and $30 overnight. On a Saturday night it was very noisy on the street, lots of foot traffic, bars with banging music. The reception let me cancel the reservation because it was booked less than 3 hours ago. We ended up camping in a forest about an hour away for free. Overall: when booking on the phone, ask about parking, double check the total cost of stay. If you are driving, you can book a room in a motel for about $70 a night in another part of Los Angeles with parking included. Oh, and you have to have your ID on you, or you can't check in even if someone else is paying for your stay.

Very nice location ,safe, clean hostel, and helpful staff. Breakfast including muffin, corn flakes& granola, yoghurt apple, milk &juice(always the same during my four-day stay). Coffee and tea served all day, lovely large kitchen fridge space. Room is big, every bedside has its own light and charge outlet. However, 3 things to complain: 1.poor quality matters, too soft, hurts my back; 2. 4 out of 6 dryers reserved for staff, making it always a long line; 3. Free wifi, but for desktop in the hostel, need to PAY TO USE . Overall, it's a nice hostel.

Really lovely place, however no AC in bedrooms so hot and can get smelly. In a beautiful location and has a few social areas as well as free breakfasts and sometimes evening meals too. Really do recommend it but just be aware of the lack of AC
