I adore this place! TMMC is one of the largest marine mammal hospitals in the world. They do groundbreaking rescues, rehabilitation, research, and education about marine mammals and our oceans' health. I loved visiting so much, I became one of the over 1000 volunteers at the center. See Northern Elephant Seal pups in the spring, and summer is a great time to visit and see the California Sea Lion patients. Visit the website for patient updates, current research, and public educational program information too!

A wonderful place to visit.. or donate to. They do exceptional work all over the world... a wonderful organization that can really inspire people to understand and connect with the wild all around us. An important place to learn and explore.... and motivate kids to be part of solving problems, helping heal and save creatures, and become a wonderful part of healing our interconnected ecosystems.

awesome place for educating kids (and adults!) about our local marine wildlife and efforts to rehabilitate them.

Free and open to the public! Cute baby seals and sea lions- best time to come is late spring, they usually have a full house after pupping season. If you're lucky you can catch a live feeding, or for the morbidly curious, a necropsy! Definitely a unique stop for visitors or locals...and its build on the site of a former nuclear missile silo!
