With something on my schedule every day this week, it flew by, but not everything was social or fun. One day was devoted to getting my house ready for the carpet cleaners to come the next day. In recent years I’ve scheduled t...

One of my sister-in-law’s had a series of falls a few weeks ago and had to be moved into a nursing home. She’d been living with her daughter who has a severe form of MS and is wheelchair bound which meant my niece-in-law also...

It’s only day three in the week and already I’ve had a unique experience to fill up time in my weird widowhood world where sometimes it seems like that’s all I’ve got is time. Woo is me. I want something more meaningful in my...

Saturday morning I couldn’t decide if I needed a shower or not before taking myself out to lunch on a dark, raining day. Dermatologists don’t recommend daily showers for old people if you’re not doing stuff to get sweaty and ...

A few days ago I took myself out to lunch and while I was waiting for my plate of cholesterol to be served a couple about my age walked in. The woman was wearing a t-shirt that read, “Friendship League” and the guy was wearin...

It’s been a busy week. Wednesday the son-I-wish-I-had spent the morning vacuuming my 1,500 square feet basement and mopping the cement floor and I did some sorting down there, earmarking five boxes for him to take upstairs to...

Sunday I was asked to go to my widowed brother’s house out in the boondocks to give some feedback and suggestions on a redecorating project he’s planning for his living room, dining area and kitchen. That sounds straight forw...

Story
Introduction
I've been a diary keeper since I was ten years old so blogging on the internet is a natural for me. And that's one heck of a long time, considering that I'm old enough to qualify for Medicare.
If you visit this musuem I strong recommend seeing the video before looking at the exhibits so you'll understand why the objects within are important teaching tools to understanding how they play into the Jim Crow era and racism. Some objects are shocking, some you might remember from seeing them in your childhood, like I did, but all will make you think. Black or white, everyone should visit this Museum if you're in the area.
