Do not expect a reservation to be held up here! I called and reserved a table for a Saturday night and confirmed that they even accepted reservations when I called, but it turns out that the reservation was WORTHLESS! While waiting over 30 minutes past the reservation we watched the hostess tell everyone that came in that "it would be a little while" before they would get seated. What busy restaurant on a Saturday night doesn't respond with an expected wait time? When I questioned about did we even have a reservation I was told that someone was sitting at our table and they "couldn't just kick them out". The whole point of a reservation is to have a reserved place to sit almost as soon as you arrive, not 30 minutes later! Finally, on the food the Calamari was OVERCOOKED and just nasty. I shared the "big" SOB which cost almost $30 thinking it would be enough to share and that was a joke. I will NEVER return to this restaurant. We wanted to try this place out since we had already been to the Full Moon, but I won't be making that mistake again.

Great hospitality from the owner, very good wait service, comfortable ambiance, couldn't decide what to eat from the menu--it all looked great--and all of our choices were outstanding. Amazed to learn that this is a small, local business, with only one or two other locations recently opened. Everything about this place appealed to each of the members of my party, one who likes trendy places the two who prefers quiet/comfy places. The two older members of my party, who have lived in Pinehurst since before this place opened and never tried it, are going to be frequent guests. I look forward to returning and trying other items on the menu. Thanks for a great family dinner!

I am going to return and give it a try, I know their food is very good, in all fairness, I do not know why it happened, but our group was placed in an area that was unheated in the very coldest part of winter. We waited so long to get service, we sent someone in begging for some coffee to keep us warm. When we got out food much later we were almost too cold to eat..BUT I WILL SAY THIS IN THEIR FAVOR: Our group visited again last week (I was out of town) and a friend of mine said it could not have been better. They were very attentive to their needs, the food was very good, and cudos to them for making it up to the group. I

From outside the building to inside the dining room it is a very nice experience. However I ordered the oysters and also a dip, the osyters we're very cold and rubbery, It taste like they may have had freezer burn. The dip was extremely salty as well. TO BE FAIR, I must tell say that was my first and only time that I ate there, it may have been an off night just for my entree I'm not sure. The atmosphere was nice enough to encourage me to visit again, also I see all the other reviews are excellent. Just based off what I saw and how good the service was I will try their food again, my fingers are crossed I hope it just was a bad night because I would love to make this a place I frequent

.........Southern Pines, NC.............. Shrimp Bruschetta - was not awful, but it's flavor comes from the feta and balsamic. Calamari - greasy, over cooked, flavorless. Cajun Fried Oysters - just delete the term Cajun...this had no flavor at all and was greasy. Crab Cakes ( one of their listed Specialties) - taste and look like frozen type. No flavor, no texture, greasy. The greasy flavorless theme carried throughout the meal. The only item that the party agreed was not too bad was the hush-puppies. These were the only items not floating in grease and are typically bland to begin with. This was the second time we tried the place, and is the last time. Cost for a meal for four was over $100.00; for this amount the food is expected to be on a much much higher level. I agree with another reviewer -- Bone Fish is a better choice. Foodies Beware

We do not go to Shuckers often because we live quite a distance from there. We went for a special Birthday occasion this time. The SERVICE was the WORST I have ever experienced. I viewed at least four waitresses and only 4 to 5 tables of 4 or less so it was not like Shuckers was over crowded. The oysters were large but had no flavor. We had to clear our own table when our main meal was presented. Our table was not cleared once by our waitress during our whole dinner. Our food had been sitting under heat lamps for some time before presented. My fish was like rubber. We were offered hush puppies soon after we arrived but our drinks did not arrive until after the puppies were finished. My Gin and tonic was very good. I believe Shuckers has always made a fine drink. The food had very little flavor. Our bill was over one hundred dollars and there were three in our party. For the price we will eat at the Bone Fish next time. Oh, the waitress brought our bill and then asked if we would like desert? What is that?
