A Jewel waiting to be discovered

Set off the main street in downtown Tulum, lies a charming, fresh ,super clean small hotel. The new owners, Mariza and Guillermo are extra accomodating and give you a great value for your pesos.

They joyfully help you with any questions you might have about the area and all of Mexico for that matter. Their fluency in English helps alot. Very quiet and peaceful spot and close to beaches and restaurants. -thtmiami, Miami, Florida.

Safer Diving at Tulum,

Mayor Martin Cobos Villalobos ordered to Civil Protection an inspection to all places of diving services for compliance with standards and security measures to protect and safeguard the divers in cave exploration, because it is considered an extreme sport and high risk, according to a newsletter of the City of Tulum.

Also instructed that a record be made of all the dive shops because in the municipality for its richness in rivers and underground caverns and cenotes have proliferated such establishments, some perhaps without permits.

Emphasized as part of the start of the Fire Training Course that cave diving is a high-risk sport and can only be performed by certified divers and also for specialized caving.

Visit Tulum this Spring Break. You will find an amazing beach, excellent seafood and great fun at night. Dive in a Cenote or at the Reef, take some lessons of kite surfing or take a tour to the beautiful lagoon!

"Waiting and Wondering"  Time for something a bit different from me.  I tend to focus on photographing the beautiful scenes in the Pacific Northwest, but last February my wife and I took a trip to the Riviera Maya of Mexico.  This is a sunrise image from Tulum, Mexico, which is located about 2 hours south of Cancun.  The colors in the water and sky on that morning were pretty amazing.  Thanks for taking a look and for any comments you have.

Like many other #Mexican resort towns, Tulum’s #beach is dotted with cabanas, boutique hotels, restaurants, etc. But, what makes #Tulum quainter is the lack of high-rise hotels and heavy development found in such places as #Cancun.
