The Wired hybrid animals wish list is beautifully illustrated by artists in the Science Illustration Program at CSU Monterey Bay. Includes bioluminescent birds and piranhatees and pandaroos and more! http://www.wired.com/wiredscience/2013/06/hybrid-animal-wish-list/

And now there are at least five moons circling Pluto! The newest moony addition is currently called P5, but the scientist who spotted the moon offers a more appropriate suggestion...

Planetary landscapes on FB -- check out the sunset on Mars! Gorgeous pics and updates from people who know what they're talking about -- including one from today: a pic of the enormous mountain range on Iapetus, my favorite rebellious moon. <like!>

The physics of Angry Birds, Space...including delightful takes on the game by a JPL mission designer, the brain behind Box2d (the physics engine behind many of these games), and a theorist who recently modeled the orbits of planets around binary stars (looks like a pinball game).

More on the mysterious sea lion pup stranding. The number of rescues is now around 1,000 -- but that's just a fraction of the pups having a bad time offshore. http://www.wired.com/wiredscience/2013/03/sea-lion-pups-norcal/
