Merry Christmas!

Luke 2: 1-11

1 And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed.

2 (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.)

3 And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city.

4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:)

5 To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.

6 And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.

7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.

8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.

9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.

10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

Dakota Customs is a new partnership between Burnsville Offroad and Liberty Jeep Superstore. However, this is not your typical custom shop. Liberty Jeep Superstore has lifted over 400 Jeeps since 1995 and Dan McKeag from Burnsville Offroad has been doing V8 engine conversions for nearly 30 years. Dan is best known for his JK Wrangler Hemi conversions, a task he was the first in the world to accomplish in 2006. Doing over 600 conversions for companies such as Jeep, Chrysler, Mopar, Skyjacker, Rubicon Express, Superlift, Teraflex and countless Jeep enthusiasts just like you, Dan has more than enough expertise to get the job done and to get it right, the first time.

This partnership comes with many benefits. Dakota Customs is now a one stop shop to purchase, modify, and service your vehicle with trusted and reputable Jeep guys. Dakota Customs is not just for Jeeps, though. They can do modified trucks, hot rods, imports; you name it. Being the undisputed, worldwide leader in Hemi Wrangler conversions, they have the experience to ship entire vehicles or components to anywhere in the world.

We were exploring in the mountains south of I70 and the Fremont Indian State Park yesterday and came across ruins.

The ruins turned out to be part of the ghost town of Kimberly, Utah, a gold boom town that thrived from the 1890s through 1910. The photo shows a mill that has fared surprisingly well considering it has weathered a century of harsh winters and hot summers.

Besides its history, Kimberly has one other claim to fame. It was the birthplace of Ivy Baker Priest, who was President Eisenhower's Secretary of the Treasury in the 1950s and mother of Pat Priest, who played Marilyn Munster on The Munsters TV show.

It's interesting how these old ghost towns tie into our modern culture.  Watch for more on Kimberly as we return to explore soon.
