Oh Kathy, that is the most amazing story about Christmas! I can't believe your parents did all of that! One of my fondest memories of Christmas is when my grandmother found a jingle bell on our driveway shortly after Christmas one year. To this day, I have no idea if she planted it there, or if it's just a coincidence, but I thought it was magical and I can't wait to do that for my own daughter. And while you're mourning the loss of Santa, I can't wait for my child to understand it so I can start our own traditions. And you've just inspired me to make it that much more special!!!!

Wow. Four miscarriages? I went through one after 7 months of trying, and that felt cruel enough. My heart goes out to you for enduring that so many times, and then suffering the loss of one of your twins. How horrible! But I am so happy your story had a happy ending! Congrats on the book. I am looking forward to reading it!!! xoxo

Thank you for this. As a mom of a very picky eater, I often feel like I'm failing in the food department as my child will only eat certain things. She doesn't like dairy (even gave up milk a couple of months ago) and refuses to eat anything with sugar in it, if you can believe it. I used to offer and offer and offer, and then one day I came to realize I was making mealtime stressful, and that's the last thing I want it to be. So I offer my daughter the things she likes, and I don't stress if she doesn't eat them. But I still give her the odd jar of pureed peas or green beans (the only 2 she likes) so I can at least feel like she has SOME veggies in her. I don't tell her doctor this though. HA! xoxoxo

We started the new session of mom-and-me classes today, and it dawned on me that we only have 2 more years of this before my little one starts school. And I don't feel ready. How you are handling HIGH SCHOOl is beyond me. Big hugs, momma!

I'm so sorry you're feeling down, Kathy! That makes my heart hurt! You know, I'm a little bit like you. I'm a really emotional person, but I have a habit of just getting on with it. I was raised by Brits, and that's just how it's done. But the bad stuff still festers below the surface, doesn't it? I hope you're able to make some sense of the things that are bringing you down, and I like to think this was your Aunt's last gift to you. Big hugs!! xoxoxo

Sorry again for your loss, Kathy. Your family sounds very much like mine - we try to find the humor in everything. Actually, of the 4 of us, I'm the most emotional (if you can believe that). Anyway, I'm glad you managed to keep things light as I'm sure your aunt would've appreciated that. I'm sure she was looking down at all of you, laughing as well... xo

Bahahahah! I love this!!! I can just picture that scene around the dinner table!!!! And I love that Lizzy piped up, too. :) The more I read your stories, the more I wish we could've lived on the same street and had kids at the same time. Because I think you could've taught me a lot. :) xoxoxo

Happy belated anniversary! Ours is coming up at the end of the month - 6 years! I agree with you that there are certain moments in your life when everything changes, and that first 7 months with my husband, from our first date to the time he proposed to me (yup, he proposed after only 7 months!) was completely life-changing to me. I feel like you and I got 2 of the good ones. :) Thanks for this post - it made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside! xoxo
