A clean technical setup may help Silver go higher over the near-term. A weaker Dollar and slowing economic growth may also help.
The past several weeks have seen Silver prices consolidate in a wide range. This range indicates a still indecisive market for precious metals. However, that doesn't mean that there aren't opportunities for traders. The iShares Silver Trust ETF (SLV) captures a nice potential trading setup

Apple's stock (AAPL) has grown so big in market cap that investors need to keep an eye on it. Especially if its recent pullback continues.
Everyone knows that Apple, Inc. (AAPL) is one of the titans in the stock market. And due to their market cap (currently $728 Billion), they can often weight down major market indices such as the NASDAQ Composite, Dow Jones Industrial Average, and S&P 500. So our first question is an easy one

Is The S&P 500 ready to breakout?  Or will the chop limit its upside?
As I type, the S&P 500 is within one point of its all time highs set back in February. The question now is whether we will see a new leg higher that leaves this choppy consolidation behind? Or will the choppiness persist, limiting the move? Here is a chart showing the break above the upper we

Netflix subscriber growth key to big break out for stock. #NFLX
For much of the past year, Netflix (NFLX) stock has traded sideways in a wide range (150 points!). The size of that range probably made it difficult for longer term investors to hold on, but those who did were rewarded by Netflix earnings report last night. It wasn't so much then earnings an

The Intel earnings report was pretty good, but the stock chart indicates much work to do. Here's what I'm watching.
After the closing bell, we were greeted with another slew of earnings reports to sift through. One after hours mover that caught my eye was Intel (INTC). The Intel earnings report was applauded with a 3 percent rise in after hours trading. By the numbers: Intel earnings came in at $0.41 on $12.

A look at the U.S. consumer and a major Consumer Stocks ETF.
One market leading indicator (and sector) is the consumer. If the consumer and consumer-related stocks are healthy, the stock market tends to perform well. One of my favorite ETFs to follow in this regard is the Consumer Discretionary Select Sector ETF (XLY). This sector ETF takes into account the h

The agriculture sector and particularly grains like Corn, Wheat, and Soybeans, have trading lower and with some near lows.
The longer the US Dollar Index remains at or near 100, the more difficult it will be for the common grains (Corn, Soybeans, and Wheat) to put in a bottom. As I've mentioned before, Corn's chart looks the best but time and price are beginning to wear on investors. Wheat and Soybeans con

The S&P 500 is getting very close to a major Fibonacci extension level. It will be very interesting to see what happens if/when we get there.
It's inevitable, every time investors start to "look" higher, the market reverses and punishes them. This has happened several times in 2015 as the markets have been volatile and choppy. But with the stock market back near all time highs, a major S&P 500 Fibonacci target comes int

Consumer related stocks have been consolidating as investors try to figure out the health of the "consumer". Earnings reports should be key.
