Active vs passive opposition
I understand the distinction between the two: the GM rolls for the first one while the second is a static difficulty. This distinction seems a bit superfluous to me (and in fact the core rules say that you could use only passive opposition if you don't want to roll).
I know that the probability distributions are different (4dF - 4dF vs 4dF), but as they are both centered around 0, I wouldn't mind the difference.
Am I missing something here or is this "only" an excuse for the GM to roll the dice?
