If you have a low tolerance for Jesus jokes, general silliness, or absolute buckets of gore, this week's horror short may not be for you. For the rest of you, Happy Good Friday!

He is one of 200 animals rescued by the country's ministry of forestry over the last few years.

More evidence that hyperlocal food producers are on the rise, and they're taking the importance of bees very seriously.
In Buffalo and Pittsburgh, urban beekeepers are taking sustainable food production into their own hands -- sometimes in secret.

"Animals are neither things, nor humans. They have no moral or ethics. [...] However, like humans, they are sensitive, able to feel joy and pain, and even to develop intelligence and a major affectivity."
- Luc Ferry

This is an important step, but still not enough according to French ecologists. On April 15 French Parliament accepted the new amendment to the Civil Code which declares: animals are living beings […]

First time eating here, this afternoon. Just wandered in, curious about a vegan restaurant in West Rog. The food was amazing, the owner was refreshingly friendly and... listening to Sade and eating some awesome samosas? You just can't get any better than that. I will be back soon!

Best place to get Tacos in the Albany Park area, hands down. It's on my way home from work - always wanted to stop in when I had the time; I decided to eat there last week and it completely surpassed expectations. The service was quick, attentive, polite and FRIENDLY (bonus!). You really don't expect tacos this good this far north in Chicago. Will be a regular stop over for me from now on.
