Star Ferry

This is an excellent place to stay in Port Angeles, staff are very friendly, close to the national park, downtown & ferry. The double bed is biggest among the chain hotels (even 5 stars) I stayed in this Pacific trip, very comfortable and clean. I especially enjoyed the photos inside the room and in the public area, they are magnificent!

It was really a nice surprise, lobby well decorated, heated pool, really big room, with a very confortable king bed, conformtable desk. Views to the golf course, beatifully manicured, even with a small water stream. At the edge of Port Angeles, there was complete silenced at night, we could hear the frogs at night from! Perfectly located to explore Olympic Parck, they even gave us a very detailed guide of things to do and see. Will definitely have to come back! Can not say anything about the breakfast as we had to go really early.

I'm giving this hotel 4 stars instead of 5 because of the terrible dinning recommendation they gave us at their reception. Except for this, we liked the hotel a lot. It's quiet. Really quiet, as in the only sound during the night was the frogs outside. Good beds. Location is good if you are taking the ferry the next day (we were). The sketch map they give you at reception is quite good and will get you everywhere with a few turns. Internet: Bad (frequent disconnections) but at least it was free.

Wow! I never write reviews. But this place is fantastic- original photography of the National Park, quartzite slab lobby with massive stone hearth- very tasteful lodge. Friendly, knowledgeable receptionist- turns out he's climbed Rainer several times! Rooms are immaculate, spacious. Really, I've traveled all over the world, and this place is unexpectedly the nicest, especially considering our rate- $104/night! Definitely stay here.

Very nice rooms. The bed we had was quite comfortable and the whole place was spotless. The lobby is lovely and the staff very attentive. The food in the breakfast-only dining room was quite good. On the down side the acoustic insulation between the rooms leaves something to be desired. Also the WiFi is extremely spotty. My laptop was able to connect for the most part but the mobile devices would only get consistent reception in our bathroom. In my opinion the patio is not worth the trouble. Its only about 4 or five feet square and is part of a very constricted walk way leading behind the hotel which experiences a fair degree of foot traffic. The assertion that the first floor rooms 'overlook the golf course" is a bit misleading as the golf course is a hill directly behind the room. In effect the room "underlooks" the golf course.

Beautiful inside and out. NO SIGNS of bed bugs (my crew is in the pest control industry). Clean rooms, beautiful landscaping. Gal at the front desk was rude. We had a work crew of 3, in town working the log yard. Granted we were muddy, sweaty, had been rained on, and didn't make a reservation, but it was a Monday afternoon at 1pm. (we even knocked our boots clean outside). We asked for 2 rooms: 1 king, 1 whatever, but only the smaller room was available, leaving two of us to find something to do for an hour. They didn't even offer to lock up our bags when we were turned away for that hour. Same gal was working the desk in the morning for checkout, still in a sour mood. There were others at the desk in the a.m., but no on was overwhelmingly warm. Perhaps if you are there to play golf you will have a more enthusiastic welcome?

Wonderful stay for 5 days recently. Staff was always very positive, energetic, and supportive. Great location. Easy 'start point' to everything in area. Very clean. Always quiet. Restaurant food/service was fantastic. Thanks for making my work week relaxing.
