One device for all things. No more need for a desktop at home and at work. No need to have a game system, just run it via Steam. Why buy lots of cloud storage when you can carry most of your files around with you everywhere, and tap to send them to another device. #ubuntuedge  is  worth the bet.

I love creating custom maps with #googlemaps, but I wish that it had the ability to place circles or other shapes with a set radius around locations. I think this would prove to be a highly useful tool for students and businesses alike.

"The only writer I can think of in all of English literature to have out-written his name - to have been given a really weird and funny-sounding name and yet replace its phonetic symbolism with a new symbolism of its own being - is...

Shakespeare.

We are so used to that name by now that I think we forget how truly odd it is. A blunt description of an intrinsically funny action - shaking a spear. It is not even a dignified action, as Swordthrust might be, he is merely Shake-speare."

This viewpoint eloquently explains what is really going on... the welfare state as it is now (in many countries) is operating as a ponzi scheme.

First, this isn't directed at the current crisis. This is point more to the crisis thirty years down the road when most Western governments cannot pay out what it owes, screwing either the younger generation by giving full benefits to the older and not as many as the younger, or the older generation by outright canceling some of their entitlements.
Second, the author did talk about the balancing the needs of the generations. (He quoted Edmund Burke)
Third, there is a difference in purchasing a house and purchasing a welfare program is that you can borrow on the house. You really can't do that with a welfare program due to politics.
Fourth, at the current state, the only way to get the social welfare spending back in line is to reduce the debt/benefits given to future generations. Social welfare is a ponzi scheme where the youngest and middle generations pay for the older generation. This works fine provided that generation sizes stay the same size and benefits increase at the same rate as growth. No Western Democracy has managed to do either.

Perhaps America needs to learn from Poland. Standardized testing brings everyone to the lowest denominator. Poland seems to have said catch up to the highest and been rewarded.
