Essay: Pyramid of Technology

This is a very interesting take on how technological adoption works over time. The first stages are going to be very familiar to most of us, but it's in the latter stages where things get interesting. 

"While the technologies at the base of the pyramid feel artificial and alien, halfway up the pyramid they’ve become familiarized and accepted up to the point that we start to experience them as second nature. Technologies that further rise towards the top of the pyramid become vital and subsequently invisible. "

I've read Koert van Mensvoort's Next Nature website for a while now, but I think this may be one of the first times I've read one of his longer thought pieces like this. Very interesting stuff.
