Gov. Andrew Cuomo's strong words in Syracuse about the Interstate 81 bridges - "a classic planning blunder" - send ripples of potential change to other Upstate cities, including Buffalo and the iconic Skyway. My column today for +The Buffalo News .... http://live.buffalonews.com/2016/08/18/classic-planning-blunder-cuomos-words-syracuse-interstate-take-fast-lane-buffalo/

Brian: Two things .... if you get a chance, would you open the piece and use your Facebook sign-in to add your comment to the thoughts afterward? Trying to build strong conversation there. As for your point, Sam is new to DeWitt and I think intensely aware of the issues you raise. That is a long journey to come back from those conditions - but I think it is his dream.

From a long list of possible choice, the five nicest things ever said about the city of Buffalo .... quotes from such luminaries as President Franklin D. Roosevelt. My column today for The Buffalo News: http://live.buffalonews.com/2016/07/30/buffalo-its-so-nice-to-be-with-you/
We’ve all heard the famous line, amplified in this digital age: No press is bad press, meaning it doesn’t matter if what someone says about you that’s good or bad … The important thing is that someone says something at all. B...

This is a true story. Happening right now. High technology of the 21st century. My iPhone calendar says I had an appointment, at 4 p.m. today, with Kathleen. I must have put it in there. I'm sure I did. Yet I have no clue, ze...

Mark Morabito lost his wife, Laura Lee, on Sept. 11, 2001, when American Airlines Flight was flown like a missile into the World Trade Center. Queshawn Jenkins Jr. wrote out his wedding vows, then crumpled them up and handed the paper to his best man. There was no need to memorize what he wanted to say. The big Upstate cities suffer from a cancer. In Buffalo, Roches...

He spent a career moving town to town, with the railroad. He was 1927 captain of a tiny high school's football team in Ohio. He died all too young, without any children as survivors. Meet James F.
