Globally, Qatar is an excellent location for producing energy from solar modules. Qatar Foundation's Qatar Energy & Environment Research Institute (QEERI) conducted a multi-year study on solar technologies in Qatar which revealed that a solar module in Qatar produced 45% more solar power when it was is installed at QEERI's solar testing facility in Qatar than when the same module was installed in Southern Germany.

We are making a positive contribution to reducing CO2. Did you now that Qatar Solar Technologies has installed a 1.1 megawatt ground, rooftop and car parking solar farm at its Ras Laffan polysilicon manufacturing facility in Qatar? In addition to this the 8,000 metric tonnes of polysilicon that we produce per year will be converted into over 1.2 gigawatts of solar technologies. That's enough solar energy to power a city.
