My review of Chris Grosso's new book "Indie Spiritualist": Spirituality for those who know there is something bigger than ourselves, but are tried of institutions, labels, price tags, and fluffiness.

This is one of my favorite new writers. In this article, Chris talks about the destructive loops addiction can throw you into, and what it takes to learn to truly heal. #addiction   #healing
Waking up in a jail cell with little to no recollection of how you got there really isn’t anyone’s ides of a good time.

+jackie summers wrote this incredible piece about treating racism like a virus, and how there is a much deeper problem going on than just the Zimmerman/Martin case. READ IT. It's important.

"I was about 13 years old when my father–a professional jazz musician–had a similar conversation with me: how (not) to address officers of law, so as to avoid being shot."

Jackie Summers examines the way racism reproduces - and how well-meaning people feed the disease by denying their privilege.

This is the best video I've watched all week. This dance crew is doing good in the community AND they keep the original cultural roots of the Harlem Shake!

"Unfortunately, while such a rejoinder may be a great tear-jerking heroic move in a movie, its poor form when dealing with everyday human situations with the people you love. Instead of fixing the situation, it leads to more pain, deeper issues and potentially, unnecessary violence." -- +Ken Chitwood

NEW POST: "I knew it the first time I saw him. He had long locks of brown hair, kind eyes, and his clothing was impeccable. (His disciples kind of looked similar to him but with colored sashes — but I loved the ringleader.) "

+Deanna Ogle Interesting, this does create a sense of how complex things get when you combine gender with your feelings.  But, there is a way which seems right unto a man (or women) but the end of that is death. (prov 14:12)  It gets more complicated when you mix morality or God's way into the other complexities.  The very essence of morality or right and wrong creates this complexity of feelings being all good because we are human.  Just my opinion because all I'm trying to verbalize is the difference between what's in my my mind and what's in my heart.

I adore this short film. It's well-made and will make you melt just a little bit.

"So why all this hand wringing about amnesty as a “back channel [way] to reward illegality?” For people who came to this country and displaced whole nations, our talk of illegal entry as the ultimate barrier to citizenship betrays either a short memory or a stunning lack of irony." -- +Derek Penwell
