Overall, a great place to satisfy your seafood cravings. I strongly recommend the Queen Crab bucket platter. Super delicious! Atmosphere was amazing all the employees were very friendly and willing to accommodate to any specific needs. However, the down side of going on a Saturday was the long wait. I waited for about two hours to be seated and an extra hour to receive my food. Regardless of the waiting time Joe’s Crab Shack has been by far the greatest seafood place I have gone to in Sacramento.

This was a good stop, we had the unlimited soup and both-lobster bisque and clam chowder were excellent, with good serving sizes. There were very few people, but our timing was a little late for lunch and a little early for dinner, however it worked out very well. We wanted seafood and passed up the three obvious national competitors within a mile. The beer was cold and the service was great

Overpriced food, horrible atmosphere, horrible service. Literally the worst restaurant I've ever been to. They took 1 hour to even take hour order and we only saw our server about 4 times. We complained to the manager after they did not take our order. They said they would fix it and pay more attention to us but it seemed even worse after that. When they brought out our ridiculously overpriced food half the orders were wrong and it took another 10 minutes for them to figure it out. On top of that they did not refill our drinks until we asked the second time. To say the least we are NEVER going back and I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone at all.

Blew my Mind I cannot understand how the people below earlier gave such a low score on this place. This place was fantastic and good food for the money. My girlfriend and I went there on a Saturday night and it was the first time any of us has been there. Despite the two hour wait for a table, the service was awesome. Very friendly staff that was spread their focus equally to everyone. The atmosphere was nothing I was used to being from southern Cali and was very comforting. The food just added to the experience, nice sized portions that were delicious. I had a tomato basil rice, shrimp, scallop, and clam bowl. And when I say bowl I mean a BOWL. Then my girlfriend had a queen crab combo steam pot, like a champ! Overall, it was one of the best restaurants I have been to in that area and will be going again whenever I find myself in the area.

Great food but shotty service sitting here for 20 mins to be helped mean while employees walking around before I have never been ignored as the only black family in this place I didn't think we'd be hard to miss but I guess nothing changes but great decor good food just make sure you get helped early

My kind of place -- old Sacto big planks, high ceilings, plenty of kitsch, view of the river, young waiters line dancing to an updated cover of Stayin Alive at noon. We got our old wheelchair mom seated before noon -- the wait did seem long for those who got there with the heavier lunch crowd. Having recently done a daily-catch clambake with a real NEnglander, the food was just good by comparison. But value was in line with other crab and lobster places. I think I saw two customers and two waitresses I wanted to know better. I'm wondering how soon I can go back again. Old Sacto can be hard to find -- bring quarters for parking. We went on a gorgeous day -- I'm sure it's less fun on a hot day. Once inside, in any case, it is pleasant enough.
