Are these rates even close to accurate? I have no idea. I worked at McDonald's and Wendy's when I was first out of high school. I got married and knew I had to find another line of work. A "real job" as it was called back then.

+Sam Nicarry Ok so I asked my brother and this is what he tells me. Of course this is all on averages.

A fireman works 9-11 days a month in 24-hr shifts.
They make around $40k-$50k. Of course earning more and they move up in rank.
That means they earn an average of $17.25/hr assuming:
10 shifts of 24-hr per month and annual pay pf $50k.

Meanwhile the, according to Business Insider (9-2013):
NFL players make $1.9/yr
NHL players make $2.4/yr
MLB players make $3.2/yr
NBA players make $5.15/yr

Oh and those numbers are in MILLIONS

And, in case you were wondering, school teachers starting out make $34k a year in Texas.

So what we learned is that, as a society, we value the people who entertain our children by playing games that children play at recess 56 times more (at a minimum) than the people who teach our children and 38 times more than people who protect our children.

That's just bullshit.

Thunder over Louisville.
If you have never been, you should do your best to see the fireworks in person. Nothing beats being there to feel the impact of the percussion.

And we're home from Thunder.
Half hour walk to the car and 20 minutes drive.
A new record!

Have you ever used Chrome Remote Desktop to remotely access your computer from a different laptop or computer? Today that same functionality is coming to +Android phones & tablets with the Chrome Remote Desktop App for Android. Simply launch the app, select which computer you’d like to access, and start using it as if you were sitting in front of it.

You can start setting up a computer for remote access by installing the Chrome Remote Desktop app from the Chrome Web Store: http://goo.gl/V9bJ9. And if you’d like to learn more about how to use Chrome Remote Desktop, you can check out these tips: http://goo.gl/7T58lk.

Introduction
My real loves are my wife of 21 years & our 15 yr old "son" Alfred (a long haired Jack-Russell).

I am very eclectic. I like the latest gizmos gadgets & tech, as well as the old, tried & true of years ago. I enjoy my Galaxy Nexus almost as much as smoking a 30's Dunhill pipe (filled w/965 of course).

I listen to long haired music, classical & rock. I drive VW Jetta Sportwagen clean diesel TDi. My wife & I have a beautiful koi pond.

I have been a mutual fund salesman, plumber in D.C., dishwasher @ Interlochen, tow-boat designer, and have built those big water towers all over the country.

My interests centers on things that are done "right". From my pipe collecting to listening to classical music.

Dunhill
Boswell
VW
Birkenstock
Montblanc
Automatic watches (a real watch should tick)
All things titanium

NO marketers! You will be blocked, so don't bother. I try to make my own decisions. I won't buy a 800 Hp, 5 ton truck, that gets 2 mpg, to drive to the corner to get a soda!
Bragging rights
Pipe collector (mostly Dunhill & Boswell)

The technicians were friendly, courteous, and very knowledgeable. They did a great job for us, and we are very happy with the new furnace. The technician was happy to show us how to work the new thermostat. We love that Bryant is available 24 hours a day if we have any problems.
