The Elite Series in Charcoal by Steel-Craft Door Products Ltd:

Add sophistication to any home with a distinctive deep matte charcoal colour. These doors have a low-maintenance finish that requires no staining or painting. The low gloss, textured surface will keep the colour beautiful at any angle thanks to their solar reflective coating. This special coating system reflects the sun's rays rather than absorbing them to avoid extensive heat build-up. As a result, the temperature reached on the steel surface is significantly reduced. This coating technology increases the lifetime of the door and is backed by Steel-Craft's industry leading warranty.

Choose from Ranchcraft, Carriagecraft (shown in photo) and Flush.

For more details visit our showroom at Unit 10, 3620 - 29 Street NE. Visit our website for hours of operation.

How do I align the safety reverse sensors on my Lift Master garage door opener?

Please watch the following video or consult your owners manual. This is a common problem during Spring and Summer as homeowners are cleaning and moving things around in the garage and they may accidentally get bumped. This will throw off the communication and result in a garage door that doesn't want to close.

If you don't have a Lift Master garage door opener, please consult your owners manual or search online for the manufacturer instructions as they may vary slightly between brands.

Garages tend to become a dumping ground for just about everything. Because they are big open spaces, they're easy targets for everything and anything that doesn't have a set place.

If this sounds like your garage, follow these 6 tips to clean your way to a neat and organized space.

1. Use as much vertical and ceiling space as possible. This rule is particularly important if you're planning to actually park your car inside. Make sure that you'll have room for your car without running into or onto anything.
2. Before reorganizing, try taking everything out of your garage. Looking at the space you have as a blank canvas can give you a better idea of what you're working with.
3. Decide what to keep, what to donate and what to throw away.
4. Group like items together so they're easy to find.
5. Decide which area of the garage is going to be used for what purpose. Think carefully about what you want your garage to be used for and the best possible way that this space can be divided up.
6. Label absolutely everything. Tedious? Yes. Worth it? Yes.

What's sitting in your garage? Do you have plans to tackle the mess? Or, have you already sifted through the clutter to create a new space? We would love to see your before and after photos.

Monthly safety checks of your garage door and opener, and a visit from one of our professionally trained garage door service technicians every two to three years, will maintain the safety and smooth operation of your garage door.

- VISUAL INSPECTION: Visually scan tracks, cables, springs, steel brackets, rollers and hinges for fraying, rupture and other signs of wear.

- DOOR BALANCE - To test the balance of your garage door, first disconnect the garage door opener while the door is closed. Raise door to waist level and slowly release. The garage door should hold this position. If door drops or rises without assistance, then the door is no longer properly balanced and could be putting undue stress on the machine.

- DOOR LUBRICATION - Lubricate hinges, springs, ball bearings in the rollers and top bearing plates at least twice per year to maintain a smooth operation of the garage door.

- REVERSE SAFETY SENSORS - To test photo sensors, stand inside the garage safely from the path of the door. Push remote control button to close the door. As door closes wave an object in the path of the safety sensors. The door should reverse and return to the fully open position.

If you have any concerns after performing theses tests, please don't hesitate to give us a call 403-2505250. Your garage door and opener may require some TLC. We look forward to hearing from you!
