The Senecio genus has many potential houseplants but perhaps none more popular than the Succulent Senecios. Like the String of Pearls, String of Beads or Fishhooks Senecio. Easy to look after and care for, they make for interesting and quirky looking house guests.

A Pitcher Plant or Trumpet Pitcher makes for an unusual and fascinating houseplant, so the Sarracenia could be a perfect choice for you if you like such things. Just be sure to follow the easy care instructions or you won't have it in your home for very long.

The Sago Palm (Cycas Revoluta) looks a bit like a half buried upside down pineapple with leaves coming out of it says one of our visitors, but we still love it! However you might not if you have pets or young children around (it's poisonous). If that's not a problem for you, enjoy this symmetrical looking easy care houseplant. #sagopalm #houseplant

As it's the 1st of May here is a new houseplant profile. For no particular reason other than it looks elegant and is still popular after many years introducing the Weeping Fig or Ficus Benjamina. Who has or had one of these plants in their homes?  http://www.ourhouseplants.com/plants/weeping-fig #weepingfig #ficus

The Peperomia is a very common and easy to grow houseplant, with quite basic care requirements. With many different varieties to pick from it's an ideal houseplant if you don't have much space. #peperomia #houseplants

It's Summer at last and we were inspired by an exotic Tillandsia known as the Pink Quill Plant or Blue Flowered Torch (hopefully easy to see how it got it's common name!). They are popular plants in supermarkets and last quite a while too! http://www.ourhouseplants.com/plants/tillandsia-cyanea-lindenii #tillandsia

Two articles in as many days, we have been busy bees this month! Keeping with the Umbrella theme from yesterday - please  welcome the Umbrella Grass to our collection. Quite an unusual plant as it's almost impossible to over water which is great news if you tend to do this. A perfect combination of being simple to care for, unusual and attractive. #umbrellagrass #cyperus
