Golars Fifth Annual Volunteer Day:

In 2010, Golars launched our annual Volunteer Day, which is one of our favorite initiatives, for all employees working in five Midwest states. This year our employees volunteered at Horizon House.

Horizon House is a full-service day centre in Indianapolis exclusively serving the homeless. Golars employees helped to crochet sleeping mats from used plastic bags, which were collected by our employees. The plastic bags were cut into strips, tied together, rolled into balls, and then were crocheted into mats. These mats will be used as sleeping mats for the homeless.

This was a fulfilling experience of converting waste to a beneficial use!!!

Over the last five years, Golars employees have volunteered at various organizations, which is valued at more than $100,000.
