Went to the Café Fleuri inside of the Langham Hotel for their Chocolate Bar to celebrate my grandmothers 70th birthday. After dinner, when she was served her candlelit birthday cupcake, she noticed it was covered with ants! The waiter was then notified, and she was brought out a second cupcake, which also had the ants. The manager called it a "visual problem" on the waiters behalf and still made the party pay for their meals! I would never have thought this kind of thing would happen at a so-called 5 star establishment! This was a completely unacceptable. I will not be returning, and do not recommend going there!!

We booked our office Xmas lunch at the Sutton Place thinking that their Christmas buffet would be festive and wonderful. We're we ever wrong. The buffet was limited, the dishes were lacking flavour, and the service was terrible. We may as well have booked at a chain restaurant for better food and service. I asked one of the servers why they were using side plates instead of normal sized dinner plates for the buffet and she responded "I've only been working here for 2 days, what do you want? Bigger plates?" I did relay by disappointment with the acting manager and he said he would pass on my comments to the chef. After that you would think they would be a little more attentive to try and make the remainder of our lunch more memorable, but it was difficult to get the server's attention and we were left sitting unattended. When we received our bill, they overcharged us by $120. Again, lack of attention to detail. 5 Diamond experience? Not even close.

When I first came to Boston I really wanted to enjoy some French eats (or French influenced local area fare), so I googled for recommendations. Cafe Fleuri came up again and again. I went, I ate and was deflated with disappointed. Not only is the food the farthest thing from "French" (other than its namesake), but it was some of the worst food EVER! Just awful. I am speaking as someone who's had the luxury of enjoying fine French dining in Switzerland. And what will add Cafe Fleuri insult to injury is the outrageous pricetag! They charge the equivalent for superb French dining, but you will get anything BUT! I don't kow what other reviewers are thinking with positive reviews - either they're paid for their farce review or they've never actually had French cuisine a day in their lives and don't know what they're talking about! The place is a joke told in poor taste, literally. I urge you to SAVE your money. Their are scrumptious alternatives out there...this is NOT it.

I went here specifically for the all-you-can-eat chocolate bar, and was very impressed. You have to be in the mood for strictly chocolate when you go here, and if that's the case, you'll love it. Everything chocolate you could think of, Cafe Fleuri had it -- from whoopie pies to cupcakes to chocolate crepes to chocolate mousse, an ice cream bar, and even piles of chocolate candy. Their chocolate martinis are also decadent. The only thing lacking? A little savory to balance out all the sweet.
