"The chicken was very spicy (and I just had the mild!"
"It's what I'd call a "soul food" spot so to speak, and it's worth the wait."

Visited here on May 29, 2015. Easily one of my Top 3 chicken restaurants ever. 1. Gus's World Famous - Memphis 2. Harold’s Chicken Shack - Chicago 3. Prince's Hot Chicken. I had the mild, my wife had the medium. If it's your first time, then start with the mild, it has a heat consistency that's slightly spicier than Popeye’s. Not too overwhelming, but enough to let you know it means business, and that anything hotter is not for the faint of heart, or to be taken lightly. The mild chicken has a nice crunch, nice flavor, even heat, great taste. The medium is enough to make you pause and rethink your decision. Crinkle cut fries, evenly seasoned with seasoned salt, and fried to perfection. The restaurant itself is nice, quaint and what you’d expect if you’re familiar with visiting establishments that are not overly commercial, but true gems in their own right. The real show is when someone orders chicken “Hot” or above. All eyes will immediately be on them as they devour their meal, with everyone discretely inquiring “How was it?” I thoroughly enjoyed my experience and am certainly looking forward to making the 3 hr drive from Atlanta to Nashville.

Chicken is delicious. I got the medium and it was pretty doggone hot. Not too hot to handle though don't be scared. If you can eat blazin' wings at B.W.W., then you could handle the hot no problem. And as far as the demographics, big deal. I'm a white guy and I grew up in rough places and I did not feel unsafe here at all. As a matter of fact the people were pretty friendly. It's what I'd call a "soul food" spot so to speak, and it's worth the wait.

This is the best chicken that I have ever had in my life. I eat it every week because I'm addicted to it. I don't go here for anything other than the best chicken I've ever had. I do get fries each time and they are good. A great heat level for me is medium. The spices seem to come alive at that spice level. The worst part about this place is that your chicken comes out so fresh and hot that you may have to wait for it to cool down before you can eat it. It's like torture.

the taste of the chicken is great. what I hate about prince's is that they are too damn trifling to keep their grease fresh. this was my final time eating at prince's because the next day I had the runs out of this world. people if u want hot chicken without the diarrhea, try 400%. and the messed up part about it that I didn't even get hot, I got mild and it didn't even have a bite to it like it use to. they need to change that damn grease or find out what in the hell the problem is. they will tell u it's the spices but when have spices every cause anybody to have the shits.

The best of the best. also just my list of "Tips" 1. There is about 4 or 6 tables total in the joint, either wait around for one to open up and wipe off the table yourself or order to go. 2. Chicken takes about 15-20 minutes to be prepared add an extra 20 in their if its during their busy hours or on the weekend, SO CALL IN YOUR ORDER. 3. This place DOES NOT take debit/ credit. BRING CASH ONLY. 4. they aren't that expensive, a breast and fries runs you 8 dollars tops 5. Mild is probably comparable to eating 7 jalapenos in a row, so yes, mild/ medium is hot but i recommend this for starters. If you are a baby order below that and take a bite out of your more braver friend's plate. if you are looking the washed down version of this then try hattie b's, but hot chicken started here so keep that in mind! does not get better than this!

Prince's was the first official Nashville style Hot Chicken I tried and still for me ranks the highest amongst the cities fried chicken establishments. This place would be really easy to miss if you were just driving by, describing it as a "hole-in-the-wall" place is spot on. Just don't judge this book by its cover. We ordered the Hot as a base to start with and it didn't let me down. It was perfectly spicy, crispy on the outside and tender in the middle. This place knows how to perfectly cook a chicken quarter. The Hot was spicy enough to force me to slow my roll and make my cheeks sweat. What I like most about Prince's is the taste and flavor, salty and full of spice! A must if you're hungry and looking for a culinary adventure!

Expect a lot of local flavor and visitors from out of state. The food is delicious and exceptionally spicy. If you don't arrive when the doors open, plan on waiting in line for a long time. I ordered the medium spice chicken breast and a side of potato salad with some sweet tea. The cost for all that was $8, so I dropped a few bucks on the top jar. We were lucky enough to get a seat because we arrived after the shack opened. The food was very hot and spicy. Prepare to sweat. I downed a glass of sweet tea and a fruit punch before it was all over.
