I wonder what amazing art will be at Burning Man this year? I try not to look at "spoilers" on the net... I have participated in crowd-funding a few of them, so those i know about — but there are always tons of surprises there!

Here's a photo I just took of amazing Huka Falls in New Zealand. I took this from a DJI Phantom 4 while streaming live video to Facebook — see that video at https://www.facebook.com/treyratcliff/videos/1053576294722793/ . See that lodge in the distance? That's where we are staying — it's called Huka Lodge. We have another video on our FB page that shows a little tour of the inside as well. I also got some HD video of these waterfalls... it looks super-epic in motion as you can imagine.

How beautiful is Hobbiton on the North Island of New Zealand? We did a live show from here last week, streaming from the quadcopter then flew around a bit afterwards to get some photos. This is the watermill and bridge to the Green Dragon Inn. You can see the quad video at https://www.facebook.com/treyratcliff/videos/1054227707990985/

I'm coming to Australia in June for some photo workshops! These are gonna be great events. See more at our Workshop site and see how special these events will be! http://www.stuckincustoms.com/links/becoming-workshop

Actually, we're gonna do more than 20 of these around the world this year. Our traveling band of merry artists and adventurers will be visiting 6 continents in the next 6 months, and we're getting started across the Tasman Sea in Australia. These are great events, and I'm excited to meet you all!

A Smattering of the 44 Round-doored Homes on the Hobbiton Movie Set

What a treat to be here and take photos! I’ve been to Hobbiton Movie Set about half a dozen times and it never gets old. Magical, you know? This place puts me right back in my natural child-like state where there is no difference between fantasy and reality.

It was nice to visit here after our time with Sir Richard Taylor, who founded Weta Workshop that created Lord of the Rings and so many other movies (see our talk here and thx for the 200K views at https://www.facebook.com/treyratcliff/videos/1049104631836626/ ). We did an experimental early morning drone flight as well that we streamed live to FB at https://www.facebook.com/treyratcliff/videos/1054227707990985/ .

When that live quad flight was over, I spent another few hours flying around and taking more photos. This is the result of a vertirama (the vertical version of a panorama — I'm not sure of the exact word). But it's an HDR I processed with Aurora HDR Pro. These vertiramas always have the dramas, but it came out pretty clean, I think. That huge tree is the Hobbit "Party Tree" of yore.

The amazing Temple of Heaven in Beijing. Millions of Chinese people make a pilgrimage here each year. I was lucky enough to get in an hour before the public to privately take photos. What a place!

There's a stampede to get this new video bundle from 5-Day Deal and less than 24 hours left! If you're interested in getting better at video stuff, it's something to look at for sure. There are 347 video tutorials included... well I guess you don't have to watch them all but quite a selection. Here's the link https://5daydeal.com/ref/TreyRatcliff/

As for this photo below, I got it during a muster of horses in Yellowstone. This is part of the forest that had burned down a few years before... quite dry and barren still, as you can see.

Here's a beautiful night view of Huka Lodge. Chef was preparing an amazing 5-course meal for us here at the top of the waterfall outside. But then it started to rain like mad so we moved into the main lodge... Actually, I took this photo during the rainstorm... but the exposure was so long you can't see the rain! :)

I'm coming to Sydney, Australia for a big event. Join me at http://www.stuckincustoms.com/links/becoming-workshop

What's going on? Well, I'm gonna do a full-day workshop and it'll be quite unique. The day is designed to challenge both sides of your brain. For the technie side, we'll spend plenty of time playing with tools like Lightroom, Aurora HDR Pro, Photoshop, Photomatix and more. I'll even screencapture the whole enchilada so that so you can download later... we've designed this as a "lean back" experience so you can see the way I create images, the way I move through my workflow, and my organic process to rearrange the light to communicate a story.

For the right side of your brain, we'll spend the other half of the time talking about creativity and how to unlock bits of your mind that might be stuck. You'll see this through the creation of images, stories, and how to get back into that elusive creative flow. The key is to get to know the tools and then let your free mind float on top of them.

What do you get? I wanted to put together a package that you can download before the workshop with all kinds of unique goodies. First, you get a Lightroom Library full of all my RAW files we'll be working on together. Second, you get a welcome video that lays out three challenges for you to work on before the event. It's optional, you know... I won't be checking homework! Third, you get access to this new thing I made called "Trey's Creative Survival Kit," a collection of resources outside of the photography world to inspire and counterintuitively unlock creative energy sources inside of you.

I'm looking forward to meeting you in person, my Internet friends! And if I already met you from our Sydney Photowalk, I look forward to hanging out with you again with a whole new bag o' tricks! :)

P.S. This picture was from when the Huge Rubber Ducky was in the Sydney harbour... it's the same photo that was stolen by the local newspaper and put on their front page. Bad newspaper! Bad! hehe... but all is resolved now.

This is beautiful Milford Sound, which is just one of hundreds of amazing fjords all around the south island. I've been meaning to get out on a boat and explore all of them. I could spend weeks and weeks sailing around in here, having fresh fish, and taking photos. It's just now turning to winter down here, and I've always wanted to take photos here while there is snow everywhere.
