Today, St. Mary’s received its new Toshiba Prime Aquiline 80 detector, 180-slice CT scanner. The scanner was delivered in 26 crates, and then assembled in its new location in the hospital. Radiology staff will be trained over the next few weeks, and the new technology will be ready for diagnosing patients mid-July.

Today was the final day of Graduate Nurse Boot Camp. The 21 attendees celebrated this morning with a breakfast, encouraging words from Stan Tatum, CEO and a slide show reflecting on the past month of training. The nurses now begin working on their respective units throughout the hospital.

Our new nursing graduates are currently participating in a four-week long boot camp to help them have a seamless transition from the classroom to their now daily work. "These grads are eager to learn and infuse new enthusiasm into the workforce," said Stan Tatum, CEO. "They ask questions that challenge why certain practices exist and if there is a better way to care for our patients”

Karington Johnson, a sophomore at Northern Oklahoma College, is a new volunteer at St. Mary’s. He helps in the surgery waiting room and in the same day surgery department. Karington is interested in a healthcare career and hopes job shadow in the ER while volunteering. Welcome Karington!
