ANOTHER FIVE STAR REVIEW
Walter Jones Author "BLUE"
5.0 out of 5 stars My New Favorite Author!!!
By Retired Chicago Teacher
This review is from: BLUE: A story of extraordinary courage (Kindle Edition)
I cannot believe that this is this author's first book. I thoroughly enjoyed this book from cover-to-cover. It took me through an extraordinary journey that I had never been before. I enjoyed the way the author brought the the characters to life. They were not portrayed as your stereotypical "Black & African" characters.....they were proud, intelligent, brave people, who were interesting and extremely likable. This author showed the Black & African reality in an extremely positive and human light throughout this book and it made me proud. These characters could have been my family, that's how much I related to them. I really liked the way the author did not use vulgar language to portray the character's emotions. He told a story without the typical vulgarity and explicit sexual language that you see in books and hear on TV today. I could confidently recommend this to a teenager without a problem. They would also learn a little bit of history in the process.
I also enjoyed the supernatural theme that bound the characters together and the way the characters were intertwined throughout the decades. Twists and turns throughout. When I thought I had something figured out, I found out I was wrong and it made me even more intrigued.
Oprah Winfrey, you should check this book out! I would love to see this on the big screen. With today's technology I can only imagine how it would bring this book to life and be a blockbuster!!
Hat's off to you, Mr. Jones. Thank you for this very entertaining book. Looking forward to your next one.
