Internal Steel Staircase Design, Fabrication & Installation

Somewhat of a challenge for our Boilermakers but what a great job it turned out to be.
After removal of the old existing wooden staircase, our client wanted something different to access the upstairs area of the home from the main entry.

Then taking some crucial measurements and a skillful bit of auto-cad work from the office to help visualise the concept, the finished product was amazing.

Although these photos do not show the adjacent area completely finished off, it is certainly a major focal point of the downstairs living area and always a conversation starter when guests arrive.

After all the components and stair treads were laser cut off site, the job was completed in just two days from start to finish.

Another very happy 5th Star customer added to our ever growing list of clients!

April and May, 5th Star’s Rope Access team have been installing a large building sky sign in Brisbane city at 307 Queen Street for Harlequin Signs. The sign is huge 2m x 18m long so it stands out during the day and even more when illuminated at night. The sign was installed on 3 sides of the building so you will always be able to spot or locate the Heritage Bank Building.

No, high-rise sky installation is simple, there is a lot of planning, organising, many factors, issues and precautions that had to be thought about to protect the building and public, this was all compiled and audited in our safety documentation, prior to work commencing.

5th Star Services is set up and experienced in difficult to access sign installations, and have been doing rope access for 20 years, 5th Star Services are electrical contractors, and also have a QBCC Builders Licence. Most of our staff are irata rope access qualified, and electricians, carpenters or fitter/welders.

The last 3 months, we have been engaged as the principal building contractor for the amazing new office fit out for Air Niugini at 127 Creek Street Brisbane
Have a look at the photos and you will see that nothing was simple with the concept, design and construction, AEP International were the architects, they did a great design.
The Brisbane Air Niugini office and reception has many special features that sets it apart!
• Native hardwood architraves that had to all be pre drilled and hand nailed
• Quality solid doors, butt hinges and mortice locks
• The front counter is sheeted with 304 grade stainless steel
• The curved fancy ceiling above the front reception counter is also covered with stainless, the curved ceiling resembles the curves of a planes wing
Please note; there has been a delay on the signage and artwork, once all the signage and artwork has been installed the photos will be uploaded.

This week we completed a major sign upgrade for Griffith University at the Gold Coast. The sign is well-known and iconic Gold Coast sign seen while driving on Smith Street, the sign would be one of the largest illuminated signs on the Gold Coast, or even in Queensland.
Usually photos tell a thousand words but with this job the photos don’t show or tell the intricacies or difficulties involved, this included:
5th Star Services has a team of rope access workers team that are electricians and have been doing difficult sign installation for 15 years.
All of our rope access workers are either electricians, carpenters or riggers.

This week we completed a sign installation for a large well known multinational sign company. The sign installation went well and was completed, within the allowed time frame. Because of the height of sign installation and the most practical way for the sign installation is to use irata rope access qualified trades people.
All of 5th Star Services irata rope access workers are either electricians or carpenters, we have 20 years’ experience in industrial rope access.
