Rainy Season Roof Maintenance Tips:
Gutters: Clean gutters and drains regularly to prevent leaks and backup. During the rainy season, a clogged gutter or drain can put a strain on a roof .
Mold: Heavy rain and strong humidity can create the perfect atmosphere for mold growth which can lead to structural damage and tenant allergies.
Wind: Strong wind and rain can loosen fascia boards, roofing shingles and tiles, creating leaks when the precipitation is moving sideways. Strong winds can also knock down trees and power lines. Make sure to walk the roof after every storm to detect damage.

Spring storms can wreak havoc with hail, heavy rain and high winds, creating a number of different problems.
Hail can damage your roof without any visible signs from the ground. Normally, hail has to be the size of a golf ball before it will break through your roof or cause bruising. Sometimes these damages don’t show up immediately or are easily overlooked, but a small dent can grow worse over time. When a shingle is damaged and isn't quickly repaired, it causes the life of your roof to decrease significantly. The damaged shingles will start to degrade, which loosens the shingles and makes them fall apart.
Wind can also cause significant damage to your roof.  Look for areas where pieces of your shingles have been shredded away.  During high winds these shingles can even fall off.  Many times, heavy wind will scatter shingles throughout your yard and driveway, leaving your roof exposed to the elements.

“Quality means doing it right when no one is looking.”
