I keep going back for the food, but the noise is deafening. It wouldn't hurt to have at least one table set up for my family of 6; I know we aren't the only ones out there.

Its the Council HQ, so naturally its a great place to find things. I've found most of the staff to be quite competent and customer service-oriented. In fact, one time when I had ordered an out of stock patch which hadn't arrived as expected, John took up the issue and hand-delivered it to my doorstep a couple of days later; talk about above and beyond! The Scout Shop can be a challenging place to bring your kids, though. The layout of the store makes it difficult to maintain line-of-sight, and if your boys are like mine, its like they've been set loose in a candy store while you are trying to find the 'needle-in-the-haystack' patch or award. I would love to see the Scout Shop better develop a dedicated play area where kids would be able to be kids without causing so much disruption.

Although lacking the budget of another more well-known institution on the north end of town, the Hutchings Museum is worth the visit. Its a nice low-key affair whose merits rest solidly in its collections, as well as the historical structure it occupies. Lots to see and do here, with plenty of hands-on elements for the kiddos. My four boys, ages 3-7 were well-engaged for the better part of an hour and a half, and we enjoyed working on the Scout Patch program during our visit. Come for the Natural History, stay for the Cultural History; Hutchings has plenty of both with a rich collection of historical artifacts that profile the town history. As others have mentioned, chances are you will have the place to yourself, in spite of the low price of admission. We'll be back again.

My experiences echo the previous reviews. Wanting to support local business, I came in to have a patch sewn and they offered to do it that day. When I returned at the appointed time to pick it up, it wasn't done. Fortunately they quickly rectified the situation. The second time I brought by a patch to be sewn, they scheduled it out for a few days. Anybody whose been there in the store knows the place is dead all the time. Why they weren't willing to sew it on the spot is beyond me. When I came back to pick up, it wasn't done; not even touched. Needless to say, they won't be wasting my time again.

My wife and I had the very good fortune of working with Juan Coles on our most recent car purchase, and I cannot recommend him enough. Juan possesses all of the best qualities a MINI enthusiast would look for in car salesman: he is a passionate MINI motorist who thoroughly knows his product, understands and goes to bat for his clients, and communicates with an ease of facility, clarity, and through forthrightness. Juan provided some unexpected footwork to help match us up with a vehicle we are thrilled with, and we truly loved working with him from start to finish.
