Response from the owner - 4 years ago
Shermanbrothers is a family business, and has a select list of employees (7 at current count). We work very closely with each-other and with the customers that come in our shops (as often as not, Jeff Sherman, the owner of shermanbrothers, is the one that fields customer calls and walk-ins!).
As such, the experience you describe sounds totally out of character for any of our salespeople. Obviously we won't make sales if we instead spend our time ??insulting our customers?? while at the same time not offering them any assistance. Perhaps you were mistaken that the store you were visiting was ShermanBrothers shoes?
Now, our Sansom Street/Philly location is on a city street, so it does sometimes get busy inside the store when many customers come in at the same time, so it is possible for the salespeople to get so busy that they can't get to assist you personally before you leave. If that happened to you, I do apologize, try coming in again some other time, and I'm confident you'll have a better experience, certainly a better experience than the very out of character (especially the "insulted us" part) events you describe here!
