The open kitchen at this upscale "diner" works with ingredients ranging from bologna to foie gras.- Google
People talk about bologna sandwich, foie gras, chicken liver, scrambled eggs and cheeseburger

This place is my favorite burger joint in Chicago. They don't do anything tricky with their burgers, it's just the perfect classic cheeseburger, prepared perfectly in every way possible. Definitely split an order of fries because it's a pretty huge platter. I would also recommend getting an egg on the fries for an extra burst of flavor. They also have an excellent rotating craft beer menu. It's not cheap but not overly expensive either. The one downside is the wait time, which I've seen range on the weekend from an hour and a half to two and a half hours. If you're willing to sit at the bar you can cut that down significantly. They will also take your phone number and text you when it's your turn. So I would definitely recommend hopping across the street to Haymarket Pub for a couple of drinks prior to dinner or have a plan for something else to do in the area before you eat. I see other menu items that look amazing as they are carried by. The wings in particular look ridiculously good. I just can't bring myself to order anything other than that amazing burger!

I have lost count of how many times these guys have had me return. This upscale diner is just amazing on every level. They definitely have the best burger I have ever had in Chicago. I will defend this opinion with absolute servility. You must get it with the egg and bacon; you will not be disappointed. The bologna sandwich is equally as great (savory tho a bit on the salty side but absolutely delicious), I almost always take one to go. Really you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. No Reservations + Amazing Food = Large Crowds & Purgatory Wait Times. It would be best for you get there early and/or be prepared to wait. Though you can get seated pretty quickly during lunch hours and if you head on over around 10pm during the work week. With regards to service, you'll be well taken care of. I would ask to be seated in Erin's section if possible, even if that means waiting longer. I absolutely love her!

This place is the best. If you're into bloody marys, theirs is a bit pricey, but the amount of pickles that comes with it is worth it. Bologna sandwich is great (a bit on the salty side, but still savory), but their burgers - woof! Probably one of my top three burgers in Chicago. The place can get busy pretty easily, so it's best you get there early or be prepared to wait. Great service.

Everyone always talks about the amazing burgers (and they are amazing), but I am going to dare to be different and talk about the chili con carne. The chili is perfectly spiced with hunks of meat and topped with sour cream and fritos. The first time you go get a single burger topped with an egg and bacon (single burger is 2 patties) and the second time don't miss out on the chili!

I stopped by here late at night with a friend- we had no idea of the place's amazing reputation until afterwards. We weren't too hungry and were mainly looking for drinks, but we did split the single cheeseburger (with egg) and an order of fries. It was absolutely just as good as other reviews have stated. The bun was perfection. As for drinks- I got really excited to see that they had ROOT BEER on tap. Marvelous! We both ordered a root beer and a shot of the "house" whiskey. Yes, I will definitely go back and try more of the menu.

The beer selection here is impressive, and the food is really good. Everyone is going to recommend the burger, and so am I. Get it with the egg and bacon; you won't be disappointed. Good food means crowds, however, and this place can fill up fast with long waits.
