I rent from Budget regularly for work, but had never rented with my entire family (we have small children) or rented a vehicle from LAX. When you're traveling with small children, the most important thing is timeliness, and Budget did a great job all around. Despite the packed airport shuttle we boarded (which came almost immediately), the trip was short to the Fastbreak kiosk at LAX. My heart sank a bit at the prospect of waiting at the kiosk in hot weather, but it turned out not to matter -- our car was ready just a few feet away. It was also clean, in perfect shape, and exactly what I'd reserved online months earlier. The only issue: the car didn't have the two booster seats we'd reserved. When I mentioned this to a Budget rep in the lot, she immediately got on her walkie-talkie, and within minutes 2 clean, wrapped booster seats were delivered to the car -- very nice. At dropoff a week later (very early on a Saturday morning), we had an equally easy time returning the car and waited no time to board a shuttle back to our terminal. And to top it off, our final cost came in under our original estimate -- hard to argue with that. All in all, my first experience renting from Budget for leisure, not business, was a good one.
