A few hand-drawn hallway segments for an adventure that takes place in underground tunnels.  The one with the underground river crossing it is a great place to add slippery or mood-altering fungus.  Also liberally sprinkle in ropers, cave fishers, and other assorted uglies.

I've got the "mood-altering fungus" covered, JR!

This is a map of the city of Baerstun.  The city is split into four quarters by high stone walls: the Royal Quarter, Artisans' Quarter, Ocean Quarter, and Stone Quarter.  These quarters mark one's economic and social status, and so each one should have a slightly different architectural character.

+Bill Coughenour, I drew pencil sketches around several plates and saucers to get concentric circles, then drew in four radial lines for the main walls.  I marked the streets off in light pencil.  I inked the walls first, then did the buildings in each quarter, largely freehand, in pen.  I did each quarter in a separate sitting to make sure that each had a distinct architectural / planning style.  Then I posted a high-res scan online where a friend made it B&W, since the original was on light sepia construction paper.  The scan and re-coloring got rid of a lot of the pencil lines and noise, too!  I printed that, colored it with some markers, and scanned it back in.

The Republicans want to abolish the left wing, and the President says he's prepared to veto as many bills as he has to.  Naturally they're upset.

I have been completely rocking out to this song all day.  Feels like a sea shanty to me.

TMBG's Flood remains "a brand new record... for 1990."  My son heard the lyric and said "Dad, that doesn't make sense."

"So I did sit down, and everywhere I looked I saw customers of every description being received with love. To the waitress everybody was "honeybunch" and "darling" and "dear." It was like an emergency ward after a great catastrophe. It did not matter what race or class the victims belonged to. They were all given the same miracle drug, which was coffee. The catastrophe in this case, of course, was that the sun had come up again."

If you ever wondered how to address sexual harassment in the workplace, it is hard to beat this example.

Bring this one up at dinner...  and keep the Michael Jackson answer in your hip pocket for right after the waiter brings the food.
