Chef Michael Lachowicz is my hero. Great food! Prix Fixe is a deal, but more than that the way they have layered, the courses compliment each other. Its a definite must visit, for a special occasion, or just a nice evening with friends. Don't miss the dark chocolate souffle. Service is 4 star!

The food was excellent. In this part of town there is no other place like it for food. Nevertheless I was put off by the fact that dishes are not priced individually. I got the 3 course prix fix initially. When I added one course it was not a 4 course meal plus extra anymore but $35.00 extra, $10.00 short of my 3 course. The service was alright although they don't seem to realize that their bread is burning hot when they serve it. Now my favorite place downtown is RL on Chicago Ave where the food is more social club like and relaxed but their décor is sublime. The crowd is fun and glamorous at RL. The décor at Michael is kind of bland and utilitarian and likewise their clientele seems to be terribly conservative, old and unglamorous, ugly, compared to Chicago. I miss Spago in Chicago terribly. It was fun, full of glamorous people and the food was sensational. If they could not make it here no one will. - Cuisiniere sign at the door: cuisiniere in French means stove or is the word for a woman, a man is a cuisinier. - Cassoulette on the menu: cassoulet is the proper word.

Our go to restaurant for gourmet dining in a comfortable atmosphere. Fine dining with no pretense or stuffiness.

The worst experience we've had in Chicago area. Service is non existent. Took hours to get anything and we've left early. Not sure if you can call this place classy. Called the owner the next day to share our experience, but he didn't care much. Will not recommend and will not go back ever!

Awful service. Had to constantly call over the waiters to order drinks and food. It took over an hour to get our drinks and then another hour to get our food. Very unsatisfied with this experience and will not go back.

BEST RESTAURANT in the area!!! I'm a Chef and I've taken my fiance here 3 times this past year. Everything was awesome, and the experience was just as good as the last. I go out to good restaurants to eat something I cant make for the same price. At restaurant Michael I feel 100% great about spending my hard earned money on absolutely delicious food. The only thing I don't like is the location, which is 1 hour south of us.
