Today is the Anniversary of the passing of Bobby Parker, a fine Blues guitarist who left us on October 31st 2013.

The Beatles owe a debt to Bobby, as his riffs inspired several of their songs, and this East-coast legend could play the Blues as easy as breathing.

Tommy Ridgley, known as the New Orleans 'King of Stroll' was born in The Big Easy, on October 30th 1925.
https://buff.ly/2xA3kHX Tommy's rocking piano and soulful Blues ballads never got him the fame he deserved outside his home-town, but he could always fill a bar and he was a fixture at the Heritage Festival.

Graham Bond was a huge force in The British Blues Boom of the 1960s, but the lack of a breakthrough record & involvement with drugs & The Occult led to suicide.

Clifford Antone would have celebrated his Birthday on October 27th, had he still been with us.

Clifford was a Blues fan from way-back, who opened his famous club in Austin TX in 1974 and went on to launch a record label that issued albums by some Blues greats.

The legendary virtuoso bass-player and singer, Jack Bruce passed away on October 25th 2014. RIP.
https://buff.ly/2l9wYlu
Jack played cello and harp as well as thunderous bass, and had one of the finest voices known to Rock. He explored Jazz and Latin music, but is best known for contributing his tectonic bass to some of the finest power-trios ever heard. Cream, with Eric Clapton and Ginger Baker; with Leslie West and Corky Laing; BLT with Robin Trower and Bill Lordon; BBM with Gary Moore and Ginger; that is an unbelievable legacy.

Earl Palmer, the drummer who invented the word 'funk', was born on October 25th 1924.
https://buff.ly/2yAVEZI Earl's second-line New Orleans drumming was all over Fats & Fess's records in the 50s, but when he moved to the West-coast, his diary with 'The Wrecking Crew' was full to bursting! From Basie to The Flintstones, from Tom Waits to The Beach Boys, he played 'em all.
