“A great takeaway from Angelina Jolie’s essay is how individual cancer risk and decision-making can be. She bravely shared her personal story and really educated us all about the various factors she had to consider. As Ms. Jolie notes, not everyone with a BRCA mutation will face the same risk of cancer she did. If you have concerns about your own personal risk for breast and ovarian cancer, talk to your primary-care provider or gynecologist. They can help you assess whether you are at higher risk." - Dr. Emese Zsiros, Roswell Park Gynecologic Oncologist.
