This girl is a friend of my daughters in Middle School and created this video. After watching it I could see why my daughter likes her so much. This is a fantastic message about not being a "clone" and not allowing oneself to be bullied and teased because you happen to enjoy life a more then the fraidycats. Pass it on!

Saw this and had to pass it on. One of the best "To Do's" I've seen.
Hans Eisenman originally shared:

Received this from a friend as a kind of 2012 wish todo list. Have to share it and hope you will too--and I hope you strive to complete it this year. I'm going to import it into my personal Checkvist (http://www.checkvist.com) and refer to it throughout the year.

Mend a quarrel
Seek out a forgotten friend.
Dismiss suspicions, and replace it with trust.
Write a love letter.
Share some treasure.
Give a soft answer.
Encourage youth.
Manifest your loyalty in word and deed.
Keep a promise.
Find the time.
Forego a grudge.
Forgive an enemy.
Listen.
Apologize if you were wrong.
Try to understand.
Flout envy.
Examine your demands on others.
Think first of someone else.
Appreciate.
Be kind; be gentle.
Laugh a little.
Laugh a little more.
Deserve confidence.
Take arms against malice.
Decry complacency.
Express your gratitude.
Have faith.
Welcome a stranger.
Gladden the heart of a child.
Take pleasure in the beauty and the wonder of the Earth.
Speak your love.
Speak it again.
Speak it still once again.

Dalai Lama originally shared:

We are all, by nature, clearly oriented toward the basic human values of love and compassion. We all prefer the love of others to their hatred. We all prefer others’ generosity to meanness. And who is there among us who does not prefer tolerance, respect and forgiveness of our failings to bigotry, disrespect, and resentment?

While the title almost had me not reading this, I did and I highly recommend as a platform for reasoned discussion.

What a week and a half since attending the Writers Digest Conference! I've been insanely, crazy busy and it's been awesome. I've revamped my one blog and started another, which I would like to invite you, my friends, to take a look at. :-) If you'd like to offer feedback on anything I've done, please feel free to comment. This is a learning process for me and you'd be helping me tremendously. www.sustainingusa.com and www.terrarapport.com. Muchos gracias mi amigos!

Aaannnd this is what happens when our elected officials don't educate themselves well enough on subjects they then try to legislate. Way to go Jeanne Shaheen, (D) NH, for co-sponsoring the most idiotic violation of free speech in American history. Love that you sent me a form letter pounding your chest in pride when I wrote you about this ages ago. Now are you listening? Or is the Motion Picture Association of America still more important?

True words need to translate to true deeds.
Dalai Lama originally shared:

In the face of all the challenges we face today, is my optimism about the future of humanity idealistic? Perhaps it is. Is it unrealistic? Certainly not. To remain indifferent to the challenges we face is indefensible. If the goal is noble, whether or not it is realized within our lifetime is largely irrelevant. What we must do therefore is to strive and persevere and never give up.

I really thought I was pretty well informed on this subject but this movie had a lot of graphic information. Very worth checking out and doing your part. We've already started making changes in our house.

The movie covers a lot more, including the effects of pulling hundreds of millions of gallons of ground water, the production of plastics, and the lack of effective recycling. It goes into quite a bit of detail, which isn't too much of a surprise since the movie was done by the same people who made Who Killed the Electric Car (another great film).
