General Discussion  -

Well, this is a monumental Google fail in my book. If you search for Saugatuck bed and breakfast one local website (not mine unfortunately) is getting the entire right column listing as if you'd searched for them specifically. Anyone else run into this lately? I hope this is a short term hiccup with the search results, because this is crazy to think that someone looking for a general local term (with lots of competition) would be served up one business like this. Where did the map listings go?

a pretty fascinating read, also in this week's +Netvantage Marketing search scoop.

Great follow-up study on when Google changes title tags, how often, and how that's impacted by the original length of the tag. Mind your titles...
For several years now, Google has been changing some title tags in the SERPs. Some of these changes are to be expected, such as when a title tag is longer than

So, two local bed and breakfasts near me have complained recently that TripAdvisor has tried to drastically raise their rates, one place by more than 50% over last year. Has anyone else gotten "shaken down" by TA lately?

Then if they are bringing in the heads I'd go with them, but it never worked for me in Chicago.

One of the biggest surprises for first-time homeowners is just how expensive owning a home can be. The monthly mortgage payment is just the beginning – once you add on insurance, utilities, repairs and maintenance, and taxes, it seems that half of your paycheck is gone before it even reaches the bank. With that in... [Read More]

Questions?  -

Hello all, was hoping to get some insights from wise bed and breakfast folks. I'm trying to learn a bit more about working with OTAs. This is all pretty new to me, and our website currently works with Superinn for bookings, and we're trying to decide if Innlink (or any other tool to hook us up with OTAs) would be a good idea. We've always enjoyed good rankings and traffic from Google and some of the traditional directories like bedandbreakfast.com, but we're thinking it might be time to step out of the stone age and maybe venture down this path. I was hoping for some honest opinions on the pros and cons of working with OTAs. Trying to find info on other boards and forums but I'm not finding as much as I thought I would. Sorry for what probably seems like an ignorant newbie question, but this is a big decision and I just want to do some due diligence and  this community seemed like the right place to ask. Thanks!

In terms of how fast and effective my tree removal was, this would be 5-stars. The guys came in and took down a tough tree in my backyard and did a great job taking care of my new patio that they had to traverse over the entire day. Super impressed by these guys' ability to remove the tree and at a very good price. The dilemma came when after leaving I noticed that my vehicle had been backed into by one of their flatbeds, popping a pretty good hole in my fender. I went back and forth with the owner a few times over the phone and he expressed concern and told me he would make it right after I got an estimate and sent it over to him. I got an immediate estimate, sent over photos and since he was being so forthcoming I thought the estimate was far too high, so I took time out of my day to go get a second estimate that was half the price of the first one and sent that along as well. I sent everything over as he requested and then heard nothing, so I called back and after a few tries got hiim on the phone and he said send it again - and once again I heard nothing. Eventually I just got ignored, and since I only have PLPD on the car I'm up a creek. The good deal I got on the tree was wiped out by the $1200 damage done to my vehicle. Honestly, I wouldn't be that upset about it if he just would have said, "Sorry, I'm not going to pay for that since my guys aren't admitting to doing it and you didn't see the moment of impact." But to tell me they would pay for it and for me to take time out of my day to get multiple estimates and then get ignored is pretty low in my opinion. To wrap this up, though, these guys are good at taking down trees, no doubt about it, but there are certainly some red flags as far as integrity.

I have gone to Dr. Derksen for several years now. Even after moving to Grand Rapids, I still head back to Lansing for my dentistry because I've always had such a good experience with Dr. Dan and his staff.

We had ShutterBooth at our wedding last month and it was one of the highlights of the wedding. The attendant was very professional and the pictures were hilarious. A great addition to our big day. Wade and his team are real pros.

I've had back troubles for years and middling chiropractic care. As I opened an office in Grand Rapids I needed to find a chiropractor here and after a little research settled on Simple Truth. Needless to say, I have not been disappointed. From day one the approach has been to diagnose and fix the core issues rather than treat the symptoms. A few months later I'm living with far less discomfort and continuing to get better.

I bought my first home in Fulton Heights with Josh's help this past month. As a first time home buyer, I had a lot of questions and fortunately Josh and the May Group had timely, helpful responses. The refreshing thing about the process was the honesty we received. Josh took the time to figure out what we liked and didn't like (which wasn't easy) and was patient in helping us find a place that really fit what we wanted. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the entire May Group to anyone looking for a house in West Michigan.

Recently did an engagement session with Jon and Amy and they took some excellent photos. That's probably because they were so much fun to work with. They're genuinely nice people and that makes it so much easier to relax in front of the cameras and get great pictures. I would happily recommend them to anyone.
