is undergoing a major building redevelopment as they transform their museum to mark the Centenary of the #First_World_War
. Work has begun to create our new museum and, to enable them to safely and securely deliver the most disruptive construction works. The IWM will be closed until July 2014.
The war was a turning point in world history, and visitors will be able to discover new stories and new perspectives through the latest historical research, innovative technology and our exceptional collections. In July 2014 we will reopen with ground-breaking new First World War Galleries and a newly configured atrium displaying our iconic large objects. To mark the First World War Centenary we'll also be opening Truth and Memory – the largest exhibition of British First World War art for almost 100 years. The new museums will also featurea dramatic new atrium and terrace displays, new shops and a new park-side café. In autumn 2014 we will also launch our private tours.
